Renewable energy stocks showed varied performance on Thursday, December 5. Shares of Waaree Energies, Premier Energies and ACME Solar Holdings were trading in the positive territory. In contrast, NTPC Green, Adani Green Energy and KPI Green Energies shares turned red.

Waaree Energies share price

In the early trade, shares of India's largest manufacturer of solar PV modules, Waaree Energies, were up 4.32% to ₹2,839 apiece on the National Stock Exchange (NSE).
The surge in share price comes after the company's chief financial officer, Sonal Shrivastava, said that Waaree Energies is looking to set up an 11.4 gigawatt (GW ) integrated solar manufacturing facility by the financial year 2026-27, The Financial Express reported.

The renewable energy stock closed at ₹2,848 apeice, up 4.64% on NSE with market cap ₹81,564 crore.

NTPC Green share price

NTPC Green Energy shares were trading 4% lower to ₹141.63 a unit on Thursday, taking its market capitalisation to ₹1,19,342.11 crore.

The stock had hit a 52-week-high of ₹155.35 on December 4.

NTPC stock debuted on the NSE at ₹111.5 (a premium of 3.24%) over the issue price of ₹108. Since then, it has gained 31.1%.

Shares of renewable energy company closed at ₹140.9 apeice, down 4.54% on NSE with market cap ₹1.18 lakh crore.

Adani Green share price

Gautam Adani-led Adani Green Energy stock was trading at ₹1,243.1, down 1.4%, on the NSE at 9:50 am. Intraday, the stock declined as much as 2.5%.

This comes after the Central Electricity Regulatory Commission's (CERC) inquiry into the transfer of 2,333 MW capacity from Azure Power India to Adani Green in the 7,000 MW solar power initiative for Andhra Pradesh.

Adani Green shares recovered some of its morning losses to close at ₹1,229.5 apeice, down 2.49% on NSE with market cap ₹1.94 lakh crore.

Premier Energies share price

Premier Energies shares surged 2.2% to hit an all-time high of ₹1,214.95 apiece on the NSE.

At 9:55 am, the stock was trading 1.1% higher at ₹1,298.6 with a market cap of ₹58,537.56 crore. However, the stock pared its early gains to close 1.34% lower at ₹1,267.4 per share on NSE. Market cap stood at ₹57,390 crore.

ACME Solar share price

The stock was marginally higher, at 0.29%, at ₹277.2 per share on the NSE. Intraday, it rose as much as 1.8%. The renewable energy shares pared its morning gains to close 2.16% lower at ₹272.4 apiece on NSE.

KPI Green Energy

KPI Green Energy shares fell 1.26% to ₹823.6 on the NSE.

On Monday, KPI Green secured a 300 megawatts (MW) solar project order from Coal India for a ground-mounted solar plant.

"KPI Green Energy announces the receipt of its largest-ever order for setting up of 300 MW AC (alternate current)/405 MW DC (direct current) ground mounted solar PV plant from Coal India Limited," it said.

KPI Green Energy shares closed 1.36% lower, at ₹822.8 per share on the NSE.
