Top gainers and losers on June 1: Tech Mahindra up 4%, Infosys up 3%; Hindustan Unilever down 3%, among top movers

Stock market today: The stock market indices, NIFTY50 and SENSEX, closed lower after the trading session on Monday, June 1, due to continued foreign fund outflows and mixed global market cues amid a lack of positive triggers from negotiations in West Asia.

The NIFTY50 index closed 0.70% or 165 points lower at 23,382.60 points after Monday’s trading session, compared to 23,547.75 points at the previous market close, according to NSE data.

Meanwhile, the BSE Sensex index closed 0.68% or 508 points lower at 74,267.34 points on June 1, compared to 74,775.74 points at the previous stock market close, as per the exchange filing.

NSE data, as of the stock market close at 3:30 pm, showed that out of the 50 index constituents on the benchmark NIFTY50 index, 10 stocks closed in the green, while the remaining 40 stocks closed with losses after Monday’s trading hours.

NIFTY50 top gainers & losers today

Stocks like Tech Mahindra, Infosys, Coal India, JSW Steel, TCS, Hindalco, and InterGlobe Aviation (IndiGo) were among the top gainers on the NIFTY50 index as of Monday’s stock market close.

Tech Mahindra shares gained 3.7%, Infosys gained 3.6%, Coal India was up 3.3%, JSW Steel was up 1.7%, TCS gained 1.6%, Hindalco was up 1.6%, and IndiGo was up 1.2% as of the closing price on June 1.

Other stocks like Hindustan Unilever (HUL), Tata Consumer Products, ITC, Shriram Finance, Mahindra & Mahindra, NTPC, and Max Healthcare, were among the top losers on the Indian stock market on Monday.

HUL lost 2.8%, Tata Consumer Products lost 2.8%, ITC lost 2.6%, Shriram Finance lost 2.5%, Mahindra & Mahindra lost 2.4%, NTPC lost 2.3%, and Max Healthcare closed 2.2% after Monday’s trading session.

Midcap & smallcap stocks

NMDC up 6.3%, Persistent up 3.5%, National Aluminium Co., up 2.8%, Coforge up 2.5%, KPI Tech up 2.3%, and OFSS up 2.1% were among the top midcap gainers after Monday’s trading close.

While other midcap stocks, like GE Vernova lost 7.7%, ICICI AMC lost 6.4%, Suzlon lost 5.6%, Power India 5.4%, IREDA lost 5.3%, and LTF down 5.2% were among the losers on June 1.

Small-cap stocks like Wockhardt gained 5.2%, Anant Raj gained 4.7%, NBCC up 4.3%, JBM Auto up 4.1%, Great Eastern Shipping Co. up 3.4%, and Redington shares closed 3.4% higher after Monday’s trading session.

Other company stocks like Inox Wind down 9.7%, JM Financial down 9.6%, Natco Pharma lost 7.9%, Triveni Turbine down 6.3%, Tenneco Clean Air down 5.3%, Physicawallah down 5.1%, and Ola Electric lost 4.7% on June 1.
