Bharat Coking Coal share price drops over 7% as production falls in May; check details

Bharat Coking Coal share price dropped more than 7% during the intraday trading session on Monday, June 1, after the company's coal production in the month of May 2026 dropped on a year-on-year basis amid rising input costs.

As per the NSE filing, the company’s raw coal production, which includes coking coal and non-coking coal, declined 25.5% to 2.28 million tonnes in the period under review, when compared with 3.06 million tonnes in the same period a year ago.

Shares of Bharat Coking Coal have lost 7.5% on Monday, dropping to an intraday low of ₹38.21 after the business update, compared to ₹41.34 at the previous market close levels, according to the exchange data.

Production volumes fall in May 2026

Bharat Coking Coal’s latest business update, released on June 1, showed that the company’s raw coking coal production dropped 25.8% to 2.13 million tonnes in May 2026, compared to 2.86 million tonnes in May 2025.

The company’s non-coking coal production dropped to 0.15 million tonnes in the period, compared with 0.20 million tonnes in the same period a year earlier.

The data also showed that along with the fall in production, the company’s offtake performance also declined 15.7% to 2.71 million tonnes in May 2026, compared to 3.22 million tonnes in May 2025.

The offtake performance shows how much of the quantity of product Bharat Coking Coal has successfully sold and dispatched to its customers, representing a more accurate snapshot of business operations.

Bharat Coking Coal shares have lost 4.4% so far in 2026, the company was listed on the Indian stock market indices on January 19, 2026, according to the exchange data.

Shares of Bharat Coking Coal have gained 16.22% in the past one month, and were trading 7.5% higher over the last five market sessions on NSE.

The company’s stock hit its 52-week high of ₹45.09 on January 19, 2026, after its stock market listing, while the 52-week low was at ₹29.74 on March 30, 2026, according to the exchange data.
