The Indian benchmark indices, SENSEX and NIFTY50, continued their downward trend during the afternoon session on Friday, August 14, as weak global cues and foreign fund outflows weighed on investor sentiment.

Furthermore, crude oil prices edged higher amid uncertainties over Middle East supply disruptions, as two of the UAE’s Abu Dhabi Oil Company (ADNOC) vessels were attacked while transiting through the Strait of Hormuz on Thursday. This further dampened investor sentiment.

The SENSEX declined as much as 0.5% to hit an intraday low of 77,684.37. Meanwhile, the NIFTY50 dropped as much as 0.4% to reach the session’s low of 24,296.80.

At 12:55 PM, the S&P BSE SENSEX slumped by 210.21 points, or 0.27%, to trade at 77,869.65, while NSE’s NIFTY50 stood at 24,349.50, reflecting a 46.35-point, or 0.19% fall.

Buzzing stocks on August 14: Check list

LG Electronics India

Shares of LG Electronics India gained nearly 9% to touch an intraday high of ₹1,714 apiece on the National Stock Exchange (NSE) on Friday, August 14, a day after the firm reported its June quarter earnings.

The household appliances manufacturing firm reported a net profit of ₹652 crore for the first quarter of the financial year 2026-27 (Q1 FY27), marking a jump of 27% from ₹513 crore in the same period last year.

The company's revenue from operations grew 15% to ₹7,233 crore in the April-June quarter as compared to ₹6,263 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal year. This was driven by volume- and value-led growth.

Further, the company’s exports delivered growth, complementing domestic demand supported by growing consumer shifts towards feature-rich, higher-value, and energy-efficient products.

Honasa Consumer

The stock of Mamaearth’s parent company, Honasa Consumer, advanced as much as 4.61% to hit a 52-week high of ₹501.60 per equity share on the NSE on August 14, after announcing its April to June quarter earnings report for the financial year 2026-27, as the firm recorded a 118% growth in overall profits in the period with key support from revenue gains.

NSE filings showed that Honasa Consumer recorded 118% year-on-year (YoY) growth in its consolidated net profit to ₹90 crore in the first quarter of FY27, in comparison to ₹41 crore in the same period a year earlier.

On a sequential basis, the personal care company’s net profits surged 30% to its June quarter level, from ₹69.74 crore in the fourth quarter of the financial year ended 2025-26.

Apex Frozen Food

Shares of Apex Frozen Food jumped as much as 20% to hit an intraday high of ₹441.20 apiece on Friday after the company announced robust quarterly earnings growth on Thursday.

The company’s revenue for the quarter largely remained unchanged at ₹256 crore for Q1FY27 as compared to ₹258 crore in the same period last year. However, on a sequential basis, the revenue jumped 52.8% QoQ from ₹167.8 crore in the previous quarter.

The revenue from operations includes export benefit of ₹12.8 crore for the quarter ended June 2026 (April-June 2026), ₹9.1 crore for the quarter ended March 2026 (January-March 2026), ₹13.6 crore for the quarter ended June 2025 (April-June 2025), ₹49.2 crore for the year ended March 2026 (April - March 2026).

On the operational front, the company’s operating EBITDA (Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation) nearly doubled to ₹31 crore as compared to ₹16 crore in the same period last year. On a sequential basis, the EBITDA jumped over 140% from ₹13 crore in Q4FY26.

Similarly, the profit after tax also grew by nearly 137% YoY for the quarter to ₹21 crore as compared to ₹9.09 crore in the same period last year.

Tata Motors PV

Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles (PV) stock declined around 6% to touch an intraday low of ₹329 per equity share on the NSE during the morning market hours on Friday, August 14, as investors focused on the company’s fall in overall consolidated profits, contracting margins, and subdued revenue gains in the Jaguar Land Rover segment during the April to June quarter earnings for the financial year 2026-27.

On August 13, Tata Motors PV recorded an 80% drop in its consolidated net profit to ₹775 crore in the June quarter results, in comparison to ₹3,934 crore in the same period a year earlier.

Although the company’s revenues in the period under review advanced 9%, the overall rise in the automaker’s raw material costs by 76% in the June quarter weighed down the earnings in the period under review.

Investors were also focused on the margin contraction as the EBITDA margins dropped to 6.45% in the first quarter of FY27, in comparison to 9.31% in the same period a year earlier, as per the exchange filings.

Gland Pharma

Shares of Gland Pharma surged as much as 2.4% to hit a 52-week high of ₹3,039.80 per unit on the NSE, before falling into the red zone.

The scrip gained after the company, in a regulatory filing, said that its board of directors, based on the recommendations of the Nomination and Remuneration Committee, approved the appointment of Deepak Sapra as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the company,

Subject to his acceptance of the offer made by the company, Deepak Sapra will join Gland Pharma with effect from November 16, 2026.

He currently serves as the Chief Executive Officer – API and Services at Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories Limited (DRL) and as a Board Member of Aurigene Pharma Services.

Transformers And Rectifiers

Transformers and Rectifiers stock gained as much as 5% to touch the session’s peak of ₹305.90 per equity share, after bagging a large order for manufacturing transformers from the Transmission Corporation of Andhra Pradesh Limited.

As per the company’s order classification lexicon, a large order translates to an order worth ₹100-500 crore.

The order, which will be executed in accordance with the terms and conditions stipulated in the letter of intent (LOI), is scheduled for delivery within the next 13 months.

Welspun Living

Welspun Living shares climbed as much as 11.4% to hit a 52-week high of ₹178 per unit on the NSE on August 14, a day after reporting its earnings for the first quarter of FY27.

The company recorded an 84% YoY rise in its consolidated net profit to ₹160.7 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2026, as against ₹87.5 crore in Q1 FY26.

Technocraft Ventures

The stock of infrastructure company Technocraft Ventures made a robust debut on the stock exchanges on Friday, August 14. It listed at ₹284 apiece on the NSE. This reflects a premium of 33.96% over the IPO issue price of ₹212 per equity share. On the BSE, it started trading at ₹285, up 34.43% from the issue price.

A lot consisted of 70 shares and cost ₹14,840. Investors who received Technocraft Ventures IPO allotment made ₹5,040 per lot, taking the value of their investment to ₹19,880, as per the listing price on the NSE.

The ₹251.88 crore initial public offering comprises a fresh issuance of ₹201.51 crore and an offer for sale (OFS) of 23.76 lakh shares worth ₹50.37 crore by promoter Kartikey Constructions.

Galaxy Surfactants

Galaxy Surfactants shares soared 20% to hit an upper circuit of ₹2,508.40 apiece on Friday, August 14, after the specialty chemicals company reported a strong quarter ended June.

The company’s consolidated net profit increased 110% to ₹166 crore in the first quarter for the financial year 2026-27 (Q1 FY27) as compared to ₹79 crore reported in the same period of the previous fiscal year.

The firm’s revenue from operations grew 39% to ₹1,782 crore in the June quarter, as against ₹1,278 crore registered in the year-ago period.
