Equity benchmark indices NIFTY and SENSEX tumbled on Monday amid heightened geopolitical tensions after the US bombed three major nuclear sites in Iran.

The SENSEX tumbled 836 points to 81,571, while NIFTY dropped 256 points to 24,855 at 10:14 am. The US bombed three major nuclear sites -- Fordow, Natanz and Isfahan -- in Iran, bringing itself into the Israel-Iran conflict.

Shares of Hindustan Unilever were trading 0.84% lower at ₹2,263 per unit, while Dalmia Bharat stock was up 0.78% to ₹2,051 apiece.

From the NIFTY firms, Infosys, Shriram Finance, JSW Steel, HCL Tech, TCS, Mahindra & Mahindra, Wipro and Hero MotoCorp were the biggest laggards.
