Data Patterns India shares surged more than 6% to hit its 52-week high during the trading session on Friday, August 21, as equity investors reacted to the company securing a nearly ₹586 crore radar electronics supply order from Bharat Electronics (BEL).
NSE data showed that Data Patterns shares rallied 6.3% to their intraday and 52-week high of ₹5,000 apiece on Friday’s market, in comparison to ₹4,700.20 apiece at the previous equity market close.
After touching the year-high level, the defence and aerospace electronic systems maker's shares retracted some of their gains, trading 5% higher at around ₹4,938 apiece during the trading session on August 21.
As per the order details, Data Patterns India will supply radar electronics to BEL for a total contract size of ₹585.76 crore, as the firm aims to fulfil the order in the specified time period as per the contract.
NSE data also showed that BEL shares were trading 1.2% higher at ₹414.40 apiece during the market session on Friday.
According to the NSE filing, Data Patterns’ order book status as of July 30, 2026 was at ₹2,654 crore, which includes the orders received along with the orders negotiated in the period so far.
After July 30, the company received orders amounting to ₹771.08 crore, which includes the BEL order, out of which ₹745.93 crore were orders negotiated and yet to be received, while ₹25.25 crore were new orders.
In the April to June quarter (Q1) earnings for FY27, Data Patterns recorded subdued growth across its segments while the margins remained under pressure due to the sharp rise in raw material costs in the period under review.
NSE filings showed that Data Patterns posted a 13% fall in net profits to ₹22 crore in the June quarter, in comparison to ₹25.5 crore in the same period a year earlier.
Although the revenue from core operations advanced 16.9% to ₹116 crore, from ₹99 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous year, the company’s earnings were pressured down by the overall surge in expenses in the period.
The data showed that the company’s operational-level earnings before interest, tax, depreciation, and amortisation (EBITDA) declined 2.2% YoY to ₹314 crore in the June quarter of FY27, compared to ₹321 crore in the same period a year earlier.
On the margins front, the EBITDA margins declined by over 526 basis points to 27% in the period under review, from 32% in the same period a year ago.
While the management expects normalisation of the temporary delays in customer approvals, the company’s raw material cost pressure and rising expenses are in key focus of investors.
Data Patterns shares tanked 7% after the subdued Q1 performance on July 31, 2026.
Data Patterns shares have delivered more than 110% returns on their investment in the last three years, and over 91% gains to investors in the past one-year period, according to NSE data.
On a year-to-date (YTD) basis, the company’s stock has risen 91.5% in 2026 and is up 17.4% in the last one-month period. The exchange data also showed that Data Patterns shares were trading 11.8% higher over the last five market sessions.
While the company's shares surged to their 52-week high on Friday’s market, the 52-week low was at ₹2,131 apiece on January 27, 2026. Data Patterns India’s market capitalisation (m-cap) was at ₹27,498 crore as of the trading session on August 21, 2026.
