Shares of Welspun Corp, one of the key building materials companies in India, rallied on Friday, August 21, as the company has secured a record order.
The stock zoomed as much as 11.89% to hit a record high of ₹2,243.70 on the NSE.
The company, in its filing to exchanges, said it has secured the largest single order in its history — valued at approx $1.8 billion (~₹17,200 Crore) — for the supply of pipes from its manufacturing facility in the United States of America.
“This record-breaking order is the single largest ever awarded to the Company and marks a defining milestone in its global growth trajectory, reaffirming its leadership position as a trusted, large-scale partner to the global energy and infrastructure sector,” the company said.
The order will be executed between FY 2027-28 & FY 2028-29.
This order substantially strengthens the company's order book, enhances multi-year revenue visibility, and stands as a strong validation of the scale, quality, and execution capability of its operations.
It also reflects deep and growing confidence that major global energy players place in Welspun as a preferred partner for large, complex, mission-critical pipe infrastructure projects.
"The order book & the trust of our valued partners firmly position the Company for sustained, long-term growth in the North American energy infrastructure market," it said.
This landmark win is also a testimony to the Company's long-term strategy of expanding global manufacturing capacity and deepening relationships with marquee international clients.
With this order, the company's global order book stands at a record $4.4 billion (nearly ₹42,100 crore) — the highest in its history.
The company said its consolidated net profit surged nearly three times to ₹1,047.88 crore in the June quarter of the current fiscal year (Q1 FY27), driven by a growth in income.
It had reported a net profit of ₹349.16 crore in the same period a year ago, the company said in an exchange filing.
The company's total income rose to ₹4,144.91 crore from ₹3,586.52 crore logged in Q1 FY26.
The board also approved the acquisition of an additional 51% equity stake in Welspun Captive Power Generation Ltd (WCPGL) from Welspun Living Ltd (WLL), a promoter group company, comprising 1,50,64,213 equity shares of a face value of ₹10 each, at a consideration of ₹67.66 crore, the company said.
Upon completion of the acquisition, WCPGL will become a subsidiary of the company.

Our strategic expansions in the USA and KSA (Kingdom of Saudi Arabia) are on track for commissioning within FY27, further enhancing our global presence and reinforcing our leadership position in the global line pipe industry."
Welspun Corp shares have delivered a strong rally across short- and medium-term timeframes. The stock has surged 16% in the past five trading sessions, gained 32% over the last one month, and rallied 174% in six months. On a year-to-date basis, it is up 168%, while its 12-month return stands at 140%.
Welspun Corp is a flagship company of Welspun World and is globally known as one of the largest top-tier manufacturers of large-diameter welded line pipes. It serves critical global energy and water infrastructure sectors, including major oil, gas, and water transmission projects across more than 50 countries.
