Stock Market Highlights: Nifty ends below 22,950, Sensex marginally down by 28.2 points

Stock market today: Benchmark indices ended flat on Wednesday, February 19, with NIFTY50 and S&P BSE Sensex settling marginally lower. Pharma stocks were under pressure amid US President Donald Trump's tariff threats on pharmaceuticals, and IT stocks joined the list of laggards with TCS and Infosys ending 2% down.

  1. Nifty below 22,950, Sensex down marginally

    NIFTY50 on Wednesday ended 0.05% (12.4 points) lower at 22,932.90, while S&P BSE Sensex settled 28.21 points (0.04%) down at 75,939.18. Out of the 30 stocks on Sensex, only 13 ended in the green. TCS and Infosys closed 2% down on the bourses, while RVNL settled 11.86% up at ₹372.90 apiece on the NSE.

    Overall, 2,810 stocks ended in the green on the BSE out of 4,074. The broader indices outperformed the benchmark indices by a wider margin.

  2. Reliance Infra up over 3%

    The scrip of Reliance Infrastructure Limited is trading 3.14% up at ₹256.40 on the NSE on Wednesday. The stock surged by nearly 6% on February 7 after the company announced its plans to enter the renewable energy manufacturing industry.

    "As part of its Integrated Solar Manufacturing initiative, RInfra will be setting up a state-of-the-art facility to boost the production of solar panels and components, promoting self-sufficiency in clean energy. Simultaneously, its Integrated Battery Manufacturing unit will focus on developing advanced energy storage solutions for grid applications and electric mobility," Reliance Infrastructure stated in a release.

  3. Divi's Labs, Suven Pharma and others up on Macquarie ratings

    As per recent media reports, international brokerage Macquarie has initiated coverage on stocks of Divi's Labs, Suven Pharma, Blue Jet Healthcare, and Syngene International with 'outperform' ratings.

    Divi's Laboratories is currently trading 1.48% up at 5,926.05 apiece, while Suven Pharmaceuticals Limited is up by nearly 6% at ₹1,162.85 per share on the NSE. Syngene International and Blue Jet Healthcare are also trading in the green.
