Renewable energy stocks, including Waaree Energies and Adani Green Energy, were trading in the negative territory on Monday, March 2, in line with the broader market amid escalating tensions in the Middle East.

Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Iran's Supreme Leader, was killed in a coordinated US-Israeli airstrike on Tehran early Saturday, with the Iranian state media confirming the death on Sunday.

In retaliation, Iran began firing missiles at Israel and the Arab countries.

Waaree Energies share price

Shares of Waaree Energies were trading 2.9% lower at ₹2,630.60 apiece on the National Stock Exchange (NSE) on March 2 at 11:43 am. The company's market capitalisation stands at ₹75,666.82 crore.

The stock had hit its 52-week high of ₹3,865 per unit on September 12, while it had recorded a 52-week low of ₹1,863 apiece on April 7.

Adani Green Energy share price

The stock was down 2.91% to ₹2,630.4 apiece on the NSE. On February 28, the company announced that its wholly owned stepdown subsidiary Adani Green Energy Twenty Five C Ltd has operationalised a wind power project of 185 MW at Gujarat's Khavda.

With this, the company's total operational renewable generation capacity has surged to 17,472.2 MW.

NTPC Green Energy share price

Shares of NTPC Green Energy were trading at ₹88.15, down 2.21%, on the NSE.

On February 25, the company had operationalised the first part capacity of 50 MW out of 200 MW Dayapar Wind Energy Project Phase-II in NTPC Renewable Energy, a wholly-owned unit of NTPC Green Energy.

"The current commercial capacity of NTPC Green Energy Limited Group stands at 9151.08 MW. With the addition of this capacity, the total installed capacity of the NTPC Green Energy Limited Group will increase to 9201.08 MW," the company said in an exchange filing.

Suzlon Energy share price

The stock was trading 4.43% lower at ₹40.78 on the NSE. Intraday, it fell as much as 8.29% to ₹39.13, its 52-week low.

Last month, Suzlon had announced the formation of a Group Executive Council, or GEC, the elevation of JP Chalasani to the GEC, and the appointment of a new Group Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to drive the business transformation from a wind energy solutions provider to a full-stack renewable energy solutions conglomerate.
