SUMMARY
Nestle India was top gainer in the NIFTY50 index, the stock rose 8.43% to close at ₹1,394.90 after the company said that it earned a net profit of ₹1,114 crore in the fourth quarter of financial year 2025-25.

The Indian equity benchmarks ended sharply higher on Tuesday, April 21, on expectations of successful talks between United States and Iran to agree on peace in West Asia. The SENSEX surged as much as 847 points and NIFTY50 index touched an intraday high of 24,602 powered by gains in index heavyweights like Nestle India, HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, Hindustan Unilever, Axis Bank, Bajaj Finance and ITC.
The SENSEX ended 753 points higher at 79,273 and NIFTY50 index advanced 212 points to close at 24,577.
The company's revenue from operations advanced 23% to ₹6,748 crore in Q4 compared with ₹5,504 crore in the same period last year.
The FMCG giant reported a strong operational performance as its operating profit also known as EBITDA (earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization) jumped 28% to ₹1,772 crore and EBITDA margin improved by 100 basis points to 26.2% from 25.2% in the year-ago period.
Hindustan Unilever (3.97%), Trent (3.83%), Bajaj Finance (2.29%) and Tata Consumer Products (2.24%) were also among top gainers in the NIFTY50 index.
On the flip side, SBI Life (-3.46%), Bharat Electronics (-1.32%), Dr Reddy's Labs (-0.95%), Jio Financial Services (-0.95%) and Titan (-0.64%) were top losers in the NIFTY50 index.
NIFTY Midcap 100 index rose 0.5% or 296 points to settle at 60,087. As many as 63 shares ended higher while 37 closed lower.
Groww was top gainer in the NIFTY Midcap 100 index, the stock rose 8.34% to close at ₹212 after it posted 122% rise in its March quarter net profits, according to an exchange filing.
Groww’s fourth-quarter net profits for FY2025-26 rose by 122% to ₹686.35 crore, compared year-on-year with ₹309.08 crore in the same period of the previous financial year.
ICICI AMC (7.41%), LIC Housing Finance (5.24%), Vishal Mega Mart (4.29%) and AU Small Finance Bank (4.04%) were also among gainers in the NIFTY Midcap 100 index.
On the other hand, Polycab (-3.09%), ICICI Lombard General Insurance (-2.37%), Radico Khaitan (-2.36%), Max Financial Services (-2.06%) and Premier Energies (-1.66%) were top laggards in the NIFTY Midcap 100 index.
NIFTY Smallcap 100 index advanced 0.88% or 155 points to settle at 17,641. As many as 69 shares ended higher whil 30 closed lower.
PNB Housing Finance was top gainer in the NIFTY Smallcap 100 index, the stock advanced 8% to settle at ₹979 after it recorded a 14% year-on-year (YoY) rise in the March quarter net profits to ₹648.70 crore, compared to ₹567.11 crore in the same period a year ago, according to an exchange filing.
PNB Housing Finance’s revenue from core operations, which includes interest income, rose by 6.8% to ₹2,169.86 crore in the fourth quarter of the year ended 2025-26, compared to ₹2,029.94 crore in the same quarter of the previous fiscal year.
Five Star Business Finance (7.34%), Karur Vysya Bank (5.99%), Meesho (5.79%) and Manappuram Finance were also among top gainers in the NIFTY Smallcap 100 index.
On the contrary, Ola Electric (-3.93%), Natco Pharma (-3.82%), Cohance Lifesciences (-2.44%), Neuland Labs (-1.99%) and Cholamandalam Financial Holdings (-1.91%) were top losers in the NIFTY Smallcap 100 index.
