Top gainers and losers, July 27: Eternal soars 6%, IndiGo jumps 5%, Infosys up over 3%; check list

Top gainers and losers: The benchmark indices, SENSEX and NIFTY50, closed in the green on Monday, July 27, amid buying in information technology (IT) and banking stocks.

Furthermore, a fall in Brent crude oil prices and a temporary pause in US military strikes in Iran also improved investor sentiment.

The SENSEX gained as much as 1.11% to hit the session’s peak of 76,901.51, and the NIFTY50 index touched an intraday high of 24,011.60.

On July 27, the SENSEX surged by 766.01 points or 1.02% to close at 76,835.78, while the NIFTY50 ended higher by 228.50 points or 0.96% at 23,995.95.

NIFTY50 top gainers and losers

The NIFTY50 index was supported by buying in the shares of Eternal, which closed 5.61% higher.

InterGlobe Aviation (5.12%), Infosys (3.59%), Bajaj Finance (3.57%) and Max Healthcare Institute (3.30%) were among the other top gainers.

Shares of InterGlobe Aviation, the parent company of IndiGo, advanced as the US and Iran paused strikes, leading to oil prices dropping over 6%. This development raises hopes that tensions in the Middle East could ease, potentially alleviating rising fuel costs and improving investor sentiment.

On the contrary, the top losers included Oil & Natural Gas Corporation (-4.17%), HDFC Life Insurance Company (-0.44%), HDFC Bank (-0.34%), Coal India (-0.09%) and Power Grid Corporation of India (-0.09%).

NIFTY MIDCAP 100 top gainers and losers

The NSE Midcap gauge ended at 62,303.65, marking a 681.30-point or 1.11% jump.

It was bolstered by gains in Laurus Labs (6.89%), Container Corporation of India (6.80%), AU Small Finance Bank (5.08%), IDFC First Bank (5%) and SBI Cards and Payment Services (4.57%), which were among the top winners.

The stock of SBI Cards gained on Monday, as equity investors focused on the healthy Q1 financial performance of the company for the financial year 2026-27, due to an increase in commission and fees income supporting overall revenue growth.

On the flipside, Supreme Industries (-3.44%), Bank of India (-3.31%), Exide Industries (-3.08%), Oil India (-2.42%) and Indus Towers (-2.31%) were among the top laggards.

NIFTY Smallcap 100 top gainers and losers

The NIFTY Smallcap index advanced by 247.65 points or 1.31% to close at 19,122.60.

Its top gainers included Kfin Technologies (10.53%), Redington (7.28%), Sagility (7.13%), Piramal Pharma (5.92%) and Anant Raj (5.46%).

Conversely, its top losers were Aegis Logistics (-4.42%), Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals (-4.33%), Physicswallah (-3.44%), the Great Eastern Shipping Company (-3.33%) and Nuvama Wealth Management (-3.04%).
