In the overnight trade, Wall Street's major indices ended higher. The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 10.26 points, or 0.02%, to 44,556.34, the S&P 500 gained 14.95 points, or 0.24%, to 6,129.58 and the Nasdaq Composite gained 14.49 points, or 0.07%, to 20,041.26.

Adani Group stocks: According to a Reuters report, the US Securities and Exchange Commission has requested assistance from Indian authorities in its investigation of Adani Group founder Gautam Adani and his nephew Sagar Adani over alleged securities fraud and a $265 million bribery scheme.
Hexaware Technologies: Shares of Hexaware Technologies will be listed on the National Stock Exchange (NSE) and the BSE on Wednesday, February 19, at 10 am.
Lemon Tree Hotels: Lemon Tree Hotels announces its latest signing—Red Fox by Lemon Tree Hotels, Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh. The property shall be managed by Carnation Hotels Private Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of Lemon Tree Hotels Limited, and is expected to start operations in FY 2027.
Cipla: The company has completed an investment of approx. ZAR 900 million in Cipla Medpro South Africa Proprietary Limited, South Africa, a wholly owned subsidiary, against an allotment of 40,742,417 shares on February 18, 2025.

The South African rand (ZAR) is the official currency of South Africa.

Tata Steel: Neath Port Talbot Council’s Planning Committee today approved Tata Steel UK’s proposals to deliver state-of-the-art electric arc furnace steelmaking in Port Talbot.
Rajesh Nair, CEO of Tata Steel UK, said, “We are very pleased to have secured approval to build sustainable steelmaking in Port Talbot. Amidst a challenging global market, this is a significant milestone for the project, and we are committed to beginning large-scale work on site this summer, ahead of the Electric Arc Furnace starting up from the end of 2027.
Varun Beverages: CRISIL has upgraded the company’s long-term rating to CRISIL AAA/stable from 'CRISIL AA+/stable.'.
Patanjali Foods: The company said that the Supreme Court of India has dismissed the Special Leave Petition filed by the

Income Tax Department (“the Deptt.”), by passing an ex-parte order pronounced on January 15, 2025.

The department had raised pre–pre-corporate Insolvency Resolution Process (CIRP) demands of ₹186 crore on the company for various assessment years.

"Initially, Vedanta planned to split into six distinct businesses but later revised the structure to create five separate entities: Vedanta Aluminium, Vedanta Oil and Gas, Vedanta Power, Vedanta Steel and Ferrous Materials, and Vedanta Ltd. Shareholders will receive one share in each newly formed company for every Vedanta share they hold," per a report by The Economic Times.
LIC: State-owned Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) on Tuesday launched a single-premium smart pension plan that offers a range of annuity options for Single Life as well as Joint Life type of annuities.

The plan was launched by Financial Services Secretary M. Nagaraju along with Siddhartha Mohanty, CEO & MD of LIC, in the presence of senior officials of the finance ministry and LIC.

Punjab National Bank (PNB): State-owned Punjab National Bank on Tuesday reported a fraud of ₹270.57 crore by Odisha-based Gupta Power Infrastructure Ltd to the Reserve Bank.

Borrowal fraud of ₹270.57 crore has been reported to the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) in the non-performing asset (NPA) account of Gupta Power Infrastructure Ltd, PNB said in a regulatory filing.

The loan was given by the Station Square branch of the bank in Bhubaneswar, it said.

Mahindra Lifespace Developers: Realty firm Mahindra Lifespace Developers Ltd has tied up with Livingstone Infra to redevelop a project in Mumbai with an estimated revenue of ₹1,650 crore.

The company's development footprint spans 394.4 lakh sq ft (saleable area) of completed, ongoing, and forthcoming residential projects across seven Indian cities.

Bharti Airtel: Sunil Bharti Mittal's family's holding company, Indian Continent Investment Ltd., has sold Airtel shares worth about ₹8,485.11 crore through a market transaction, the telecom operator said in a regulatory filing on Tuesday.

Bharti Airtel's promoter firm, Bharti Telecom—a joint venture between the Sunil Mittal family's investment arm and Singapore telecom major Singtel—has acquired about 1.2 crore shares, or about 24%, of the total sale by Indian Continent Investment Ltd. (ICIL) in the block deal.

With this acquisition of Airtel shares, Bharti Telecom's stake in Bharti Airtel has increased to 40.47% from 40.33% in November.

Zaggle Prepaid Ocean Services: The fintech player on Tuesday said it has tied up with Google's distribution partner Redington to offer secure and scalable solutions for enterprises in the country and premium technologies for their employees at an affordable cost.

Zaggle will introduce the Smart Employee Purchase (EPP+) programme, under which businesses will have a single-vendor solution for device procurement and lifecycle management while the employees can access Google Pixel devices at reduced costs, according to a statement.

PowerGrid: Power Grid Corporation of India (Powergrid) on Tuesday said it was acquiring Bidar Transco Ltd (BTL) after being selected as a successful bidder under a tariff-based competitive bidding (TBCB).

REC Power Development and Consultancy Ltd (RECPDCL), an arm of REC Ltd, acted as the bid coordinator, Powergrid said in an exchange filing.

RVNL: The railway PSU has received a letter of acceptance from the Rail Infrastructure Development Company, Karnataka, for the construction of nine stations under Corridor-4A of the Bengaluru Suburban Rail Project (BSRP). The cost of the project is ₹554.46 crore.
NTPC: The state-owned company on Tuesday said it has paid an additional ₹2,424 crore of interim dividend to its shareholders in the financial year ending March 2025.

This is in addition to the first interim dividend of ₹2,424 crore paid in November 2024, NTPC said in a statement.

The ₹2,424 crore dividend paid on February 18 is 25% of the paid-up equity share capital of the company.

Aurobindo Pharma: The pharma company on Tuesday said that the United States Food and Drug Administration (US FDA) conducted a pre-approval inspection (PAI) at Eugia Steriles (a 100% subsidiary of Eugia Pharma Specialties Limited and a step-down subsidiary of the company), located in Andhra Pradesh, from February 10, 2025, to February 18, 2025.

The inspection concluded with 5 observations. The observations are procedural and will be responded to within the stipulated time, the company added.

Transformers and Rectifiers (India) Ltd on Tuesday said it has secured a new order worth ₹166 crore. The order placed by Hyosung T&D India Pvt Ltd is to be executed by the next financial year, Transformers and Rectifiers (India) said in an exchange filing. The contract is for the manufacturing supply of single-phase coupling transformers and single-phase for TBCB (tariff-based competitive bidding) projects.
TVS Motor Company: The two- and three-wheeler major has rolled out its 2025 edition 225 cc motorcycle 'Ronin' upgraded with safety features besides adding two new colors priced at ₹1.35 lakh ex-showroom onwards, a senior company official said on Tuesday. The new 2025 TVS RONIN now introduces vibrant colors, a sleek new style, and enhanced features, the company said.

The company has, however, asserted that the deferment is aimed at giving them additional time for preparation.
