SEPC shares jump 9% on bagging an order worth ₹855 crore from SAIL; here’s what investors need to know

SEPC shares jumped as much as 9% to touch an intraday high of ₹6.47 apiece on Wednesday, August 5, after the civil construction firm said it has bagged an order from the Steel Authority of India (SAIL).

Worth ₹854.57 crore, SEPC received a Letter of Acceptance (LoA) for a Pellet Plant Balance of Plant (BOP) package, which includes civil and structural works, for the 4.08 million tonnes per annum (mtpa) capacity expansion of SAIL-ISP at Burnpur.

The order is expected to be completed by 32 months from the effective date of the contract. “The effective date of contract shall be the date of signing of Contract or 30 days from the date of Letter of acceptance (LOA), whichever is earlier,” SEPC said in a regulatory filing.

R. K. Gautam, AGM (projects), will be the project manager from SAIL-ISP Burnpur for execution of the jobs as per the terms and conditions of the contract, the company said.

Last month, the EPC firm secured an order worth ₹673 crore from SAIL-IISCO Steel Plant (ISP), Burnpur for its 4.08 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) crude steel expansion project.

SEPC share price trends

At 1:16 PM, SEPC shares were trading at ₹6.3 apiece on the National Stock Exchange, gaining 5.88%.

From the beginning of the year, SEPC shares have tumbled 37%. Over a month’s time, the stock has fallen 5%, while it has lost 26% in the past six months.

Shares of the firm had hit a 52-week high of ₹13.73 on September 22, 2025, and a 52-week low of ₹4.65 on March 23, 2026.

SEPC Q4 FY26 earnings

The company had reported a 37% year-on-year (YoY) surge in its consolidated net profit to ₹13.73 crore in the fourth quarter of the 2025-26 financial year (Q4 FY26), compared with ₹10.02 crore in the year-ago period.

Its revenue from operations stood at ₹273.83 crore during the quarter under review, marking a 132.45% YoY jump from ₹117.80 crore in the January-March quarter of the 2024-25 fiscal year (Q4 FY25).

Its EBITDA (earnings before interest, tax, depreciation, and amortisation) soared 7.30% YoY to ₹25.32 crore in the March quarter of FY26, up from ₹23.60 crore in Q4 FY25.

SEPC has a total market capitalisation of ₹1,204.07 crore as of August 5, 2026, according to data on the NSE.
