NLC India shares climb 4% as arm secures wind power project order from SJVN; check details

NLC India share price: Shares of state-owned NLC India were trading in positive territory on Wednesday, September 9, after its wholly owned subsidiary, NLC India Renewables Limited (NIRL), bagged a wind power project order from SJVN.

According to a regulatory filing dated September 8, NIRL had participated in the Request for Selection (RfS) floated by SJVN Ltd for the selection of wind power developers for the supply of 600 megawatts (MW) of wind power from ISTS-connected wind power projects on a pan-India basis under the tariff-based competitive bidding.

NLC India’s arm emerged as a successful bidder for the development of the aforesaid project with a contracted capacity of 200 MW.

Accordingly, NIRL received a letter of award (LoA) from SJVN Ltd, the company further stated.

Recent update

In a separate regulatory filing dated September 4, the company said that its subsidiary, NIRL, emerged as the successful bidder for a tender floated by Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Ltd. (GUVNL) for setting up standalone battery energy storage systems in Gujarat.

“NLC India Renewables Limited (NIRL), a wholly owned subsidiary of the Company, participated in the tender floated by Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Ltd. (GUVNL) for setting up of Standalone Battery Energy Storage Systems in Gujarat under Tariff-Based Competitive Bidding and emerged as the successful bidder for development of the aforesaid project with a capacity of 275 MW / 550 MWh in the state of Gujarat. Accordingly, NIRL has received a Letter of Intent from Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Ltd. (GUVNL),” the filing read.

NLC India Q1 results

NLC India reported a 39.3% year-on-year (YoY) decline in its consolidated net profit to ₹484.2 crore in the first quarter of the 2026-27 financial year (Q1 FY27), compared with ₹797.5 crore in the corresponding period of the preceding fiscal year.

Its consolidated revenue from operations, however, surged 23.3% YoY to ₹4,716.7 crore during the quarter under review, as against ₹3,825.6 crore in the April-June quarter of the 2025-26 fiscal year (Q1 FY26).

NLC India stock performance

Shares of NLC India surged as much as 3.7% to hit an intraday high of ₹282.30 per unit on the National Stock Exchange (NSE) on Wednesday, September 9, compared to the closing price of ₹272.25 apiece in Tuesday's trade. The development was announced after the market closed on Tuesday, September 8.

The scrip has lost 1% in the past week and 10% over the month. However, on a year-to-date (YTD) basis, it has advanced 7%.

While the stock hit a 52-week high of ₹387.80 per equity share on May 14, 2026, it touched a year’s low of ₹228.80 apiece on September 8, 2025.
