The Indian equity benchmarks extended gains in noon deals on Thursday, June 25, as sentiment got a boost after crude oil prices dropped 8% in a week, dropping to near $72 per barrel (bbl) pre-war levels during the early market session on Thursday, June 25, as investors focused on the optimism of the near-term end to the US-Iran conflict, and reports of an increase in maritime trade via the Strait of Hormuz.

The SENSEX rose as much as 812 points and NIFTY50 index touched an intraday high of 24,262 led by gains in index heavyweights like ICICI Bank, HDFC Bank, Mahindra & Mahindra, Larsen & Toubro and Maruti Suzuki.

As of 12:21 pm, the SENSEX was up 655 points at 77,657 and NIFTY50 index advanced 202 points to 24,223.

Motherson Sumi Wiring: Shares of the country's leading auto parts maker rose as much as 10% to hit an intraday high of ₹42 amid spike in trading activity.

Trading volume in the stock jumped by 14 times to 12.56 crore shares compared with an average volume of 90 lakh shares.

On the BSE, as many as 70 lakh shares changed hands compared with an average of 17 lakh shares traded daily in the past two weeks.

Tata Chemicals: Shares of the Tata Group owned chemicals maker climbed as much as 6.5% to touch an intraday high of ₹775 amid spike in trading activity.

Trading volume jumped by 13.8 times to 57.55 lakh shares compared with an average volume of 4.17 lakh shares.

On the BSE, 3.02 lakh shares changed hands compared with an average of 52,000 shares traded daily in the past two weeks.

India Cements: Shares of the Chennai-based cement maker advanced as much as 1% amid spike in trading activity.

Trading volume jumped 10 times to 16.44 lakh shares compared with an average volume of 1.59 lakh shares.

Embassy Developments: Shares of the real estate developer advanced as much as 8.5% to hit an intraday high of ₹66.88 amid heavy trading volumes.

Trading volume jumped by 3.5 times to 80.67 lakh shares compared with an average volume of 22.77 lakh shares.

On the BSE, 3.4 lakh shares were traded compared with an average of 1.72 lakh shares.

InterGlobe Aviation: Shares of the country's largest airline operator advanced as much as 4.84% to hit an intraday high of ₹5,455 tracking a drop in crude pieces.

Trading volume in the stock jumped by 2.8 times to 32.46 lakh shares compared with an average of 11.57 lakh shares.

On the BSE, 1.05 lakh shares changed hands compared with an average of 61,000 shares traded daily in the past two weeks.
