Upcoming Q2 results this week: ONGC, Vodafone Idea, Nykaa among over 2,500 companies to declare earnings
The September-quarter earnings season is finally wrapping up, with the last few companies expected to announce results during the week ending Friday, November 15.
It is going to be a busy week for investors. The earnings calendar on stock exchanges shows that more than 2,500 companies are set to announce results for the second quarter of the financial year 2024-25 (FY) in the concluding week of the ongoing earnings season.
The September 2024 quarter has largely been a disappointing period for India Inc. as companies grappled with muted revenue growth and a decline in profits and margins. According to media reports, cumulative profit of listed companies (which have announced earnings so far) have declined for the first time in eight quarters compared with year-ago levels.
On Monday, November 11, 326 companies will announce their Q2 FY25 results. These include ONGC, Hindalco, Britannia, Shree Cements, Jubilant FoodWorks, NMDC, BEML, Bank of India, Hindustan Copper, UPL, Blue Dart Express, Devyani International, and Balrampur Chini Mills.
ONGC’s September quarter numbers will be in focus today as the company is expected to post muted earnings growth for the September quarter. Lower oil price realisations and weak volumes are likely to hit both revenue and operating profit for the state-run company.
The major companies declaring their Q2 FY25 results on Tuesday, November 12, include Bombay Dyeing, Bosch Ltd, CESC Ltd, Hyundai Motor India Ltd, Nykaa, Religare Enterprises Ltd, 3M India Ltd, among others.
The spotlight would be on Nykaa’s parent company, FSN E-Commerce Ventures, which is expected to report bumper growth in earnings for the September quarter. Nykaa’s net profit is estimated to triple in Q2 FY25 on healthy double-digit revenue growth and lower losses in the fashion/eB2B segments.
On Wednesday, November 13, leading companies that would announce their September quarter earnings include Eicher Motors, Vodafone Idea, Apollo Tyres, Godrej Industries, Kalyan Jewellers, Bayer CropScience, Century Plyboards, Essar Shipping, NBCC India, Torrent Power and Sun TV.
Telecom major Vodafone Idea is expected to see its losses narrow during the quarter ended September 2024, while sales are estimated to grow in single digits compared with the year-ago quarter. Notably, the Vodafone Idea stock price has corrected by almost 14% in the last one month (as of November 11, 2024).
Hero MotoCorp, Bharat Forge, Crompton Greaves Consumer Electricals, Muthoot Finance, Delhivery, Glenmark Pharmaceuticals, Grasim Industries, HAL, MamaEarth, Kirloskar Industries, Reliance Infrastructure, ITI, Jyoti CNC Automation are among the major companies that would release their September quarter earnings on Thursday, November 14.
Hero MotoCorp, the world’s largest motorcycle and scooter manufacturer, is estimated to post healthy earnings growth in Q2 FY25 on the back of a jump in sales volume. Robust demand for two-wheelers in key urban and rural areas during the festive period should aid the company’s revenue and profitability.
Only five companies would announce their earnings on Friday. These include Housing Development and Infrastructure, Innova Thinklabs, Sizemasters Technology, ABC Gas among others. One Global Service Provider Ltd would be the last company to announce Q2FY25 earnings on November 23, 2024.
