Gold rates in the cities on November 3, 2026; indicative price, before making charges and GST

On Tuesday, gold rates rose ₹510 per 10 grams for 24 karat and ₹470 for 22 karat, witnessing a modest rebound from the 3.51% fall on October 31. Even after the gain, gold is about ₹12,000 per 10 grams below October's peak of ₹1,51,570.

Bengaluru's demand profile is split among buyers. While salaried buyers in the tech corridors lean towards 24 karat coins and bars for investment, often buying in 5 and 10 gram units, family purchases ahead of weddings stay in 22 karat. Mysuru's market is more traditional, with 22 karat dominating and little appetite for investment-grade bars. For coin buyers, the making charge is usually a flat slab rather than a percentage, so it pays to ask for it separately.

Please note the rates above are indicative and a specific store may quote something different. So compare rates at multiple jewellers yourself before buying. The final payment will also be higher than the karat-based price because making charges and 3% GST are added. For instance, 10 grams of 22 karat at 8% making charges attracts GST of ₹4,144, taking the total to about ₹1,42,287.

Making charges vary widely between the two cities and between showrooms within each. So buyers should compare them as carefully as the rate. They should also check that every piece carries a BIS hallmark and a six-digit HUID. Verified rates, compared charges and confirmed hallmarking are the basis of a happy Dhanteras and Diwali.
