Investing.com data showed that the Dow Jones futures were trading 0.27% higher at 54,027 points ahead of the opening bell on August 12, indicating a more than 230-point higher opening on Wednesday’s US market session.
The S&P 500 index futures were trading 0.43% higher at 7,779.50 points ahead of the equity market open, indicating a 50-point higher opening when compared to the previous stock market close, as per the exchange data.
The tech-heavy Nasdaq 100 futures were trading 0.87% higher at 29,872.50 points ahead of the Wall Street open on Wednesday’s market, indicating around a 350-point higher opening on August 12.
On Wednesday, the US Bureau of Labour Statistics is set to announce the key consumer price index (CPI) data, which will show the inflation growth rate of the American economy for the 12 months ended July 2026.
The filings data showed that the US CPI inflation for June 2026 was at 3.5%, against a 4.2% inflation rate in May 2026. The department is set to announce the key economic data at 8:30 am (ET) in the United States.
Investors will also remain focused on the Monthly Treasury balance, which is set to be released at 2 pm (ET) on August 12.
US equity indices witnessed a sharp pullback on Tuesday’s market session as investors focused on the elevated crude oil prices and placed their trades ahead of key economic data release on August 12.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average ended 0.34% lower at 53,791.85 points after the trading session on Tuesday, compared to 53,975.98 points at the previous equity market close, according to MarketWatch data.
The S&P 500 index closed 0.32% lower at 7,728.20 points after the trading session on August 11, compared to 7,753.11 points at the previous Wall Street close, as per the exchange data.
The Nasdaq 100 index ended 0.33% lower at 29,525.48 points after the US stock market session on Tuesday, in comparison to 29,621.80 points at the previous equity market close.
The company is set to announce its earnings during the after-market hours on August 12.
Global crude oil prices surged to $90 per barrel (bbl) during Wednesday’s trading session, as commodity market investors focused on reports forecasting higher oil and gas prices amid no signs of a near-term end of the West Asia conflict.
Investing.com data suggests that Brent crude oil prices touched an intraday high of $90.06 per bbl on Wednesday’s market, in comparison to $88.91 per bbl at the previous commodity market close.
As of 5:57 pm (IST), the global benchmark Brent crude prices were trading 0.31% higher at $89.24 per bbl, when compared to the previous market close.
Latest reports from CNN also suggest that Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps said that Iran could ‘prolong’ the war with the United States until US President Donald Trump is reportedly out of office.
