Meanwhile, in the last five years, the NIFTY50 index has jumped 45%, while the NIFTY Midcap 100 gauge has outperformed, zooming 129%.

Earnings in focus

M&M Finance posted a 70% yearly rise in its standalone net profit to ₹898.65 crore in the April to June quarter results for the financial year 2026-27 (Q1 FY27), compared with ₹529.50 crore in the same period a year ago.

The NBFC firm’s net profits for the first quarter witnessed healthy growth with key support from the increase in revenues from interest collected, fees and commissions earned in the period under review.

Biocon recorded a 349.4% YoY growth in its consolidated net profit to ₹141.1 crore during the quarter under review, compared with ₹31.4 crore in Q1 FY26. The top-line growth was driven by strong growth in the biopharma business, which saw its revenue surging 17% YoY.

Furthermore, the mid-tier IT services company Coforge reported a strong set of numbers for Q1 FY27 along with an interim dividend. According to the company's press release, Coforge's revenue came in at ₹5,527.7 crore in rupee terms, up 49% YoY. In US dollar terms, revenue came in at $592.2 million, up 33% YoY.

Bharat Forge had posted a consolidated net loss of ₹90 crore in the reporting quarter as compared to a net profit of ₹293 crore for the same quarter of the last fiscal year.

Two-wheeler maker Hero MotoCorp saw a 16.86% decline in consolidated profit after tax to ₹1,417.93 crore in Q1 due to high base effect.
