Top gainers and losers, September 21: Eternal, HCLTech surge 3%, Bharti Airtel tumbles 3%; check list

On Friday, the foreign institutional investors (FIIs) purchased shares worth ₹599.54 crore, while the domestic institutional investors (DIIs) bought equities worth ₹1,019.69 crore on a net basis, according to exchange data.

The SENSEX surged as much as 0.9% to hit an intraday high of 74,987.40. Meanwhile, the NIFTY50 soared as much as 0.5% to touch the session’s peak of 23,466.80.

On September 21, the SENSEX closed at 74,894.86, reflecting a 0.81% or 599.90-point increase, while the NIFTY50 ended higher by 82.60 points or 0.35% at 23,429.00.

NIFTY50 top gainers and losers

The top gainers in the index included Eternal (2.77%), HCL Technologies (2.54%), ITC (1.79%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries (1.72%) and Reliance Industries (RIL) (1.71%).

On the contrary, the top losers were Bharti Airtel (-3.33%), Adani Ports and Special Economic Zones (-2.02%), Bajaj Finance (-1.83%), Power Grid Corporation of India (-1.55%) and Adani Enterprises Ltd (AEL) (-1.49%).

NIFTY Midcap 100 top gainers and losers

The NSE Midcap gauge ended at 62,013.10, marking a 178.15-point or 0.29% decline.

It was weighed down by Oracle Financial Services Software (OFSS) (-8.28%), APL Apollo Tubes (-3.92%), UPL (-3.47%), Adani Total Gas (-3.44%), and Container Corporation of India (-3.28%), which were among the top laggards.

The other top winners were Mankind Pharma (5.96%), LIC Housing Finance (3.62%), Info Edge (3.61%) and ICICI Lombard General Insurance Company (3.50%).

NIFTY Smallcap 100 top gainers and losers

The NIFTY Smallcap index fell 14.20 points or 0.07% to close at 19,861.50.

Its top losers included Kfin Technologies (-3.58%), RBL Bank (-3.25%), Piramal Finance (-3.23%), IFCI (-3.18%) and Ather Energy (-2.87%).

On the other hand, Jyoti CNC Automation (6.03%), Wockhardt (4.84%), Cohance Lifesciences (4.57%), Kaynes Technology India (3.84%) and Aegis Logistics (3.84%) were among the top gainers.
