The Indian equity benchmarks fell for an eighth straight session on Tuesday, September 30, dragged down by losses in index heavyweights like Reliance Industries, Bharti Airtel, ITC, Larsen & Toubro, Titan and Trent. The benchmarks staged a gap up opening but soon gave up gains as volatility creeped in owing to expiry of NIFTY50, NIFTY Bank and stock futures and option contracts.
