Top gainers and losers, June 11: Infosys, HCLTech, Adani Ports fall 2%, M&M rises 2%; check list

Top gainers and losers: The Indian benchmark indices, SENSEX and NIFTY50, closed in negative territory on Thursday, June 12, amid a decline in IT stocks and rising tensions in West Asia. However, for the most part, the indices traded in the green zone during the trading session.

On Wednesday, foreign institutional investors (FIIs) offloaded equities worth ₹2,124.98 crore, while domestic institutional investors (DIIs) bought stocks worth ₹3,123.95 crore on a net basis, according to exchange data.

On June 11, the SENSEX slumped by 150.63 points or 0.20% to close at 73,832.55. Meanwhile, NIFTY50 ended at 23,161.60, down by 53.35 points or 0.23%.

NIFTY50 top gainers and losers

The top losers in the index were Infosys (-2.25%), HCL Technologies (-1.61%), Adani Ports and Special Economic Zones (-1.60%), Eternal (-1.58%) and Bajaj Finance (-1.37%).

Shares of Eternal declined after the firm disclosed that Andhra Pradesh authorities for goods and services tax (GST) have imposed a ₹9.63 crore penalty, according to an exchange filing.

On the other hand, Mahindra & Mahindra closed 1.84% higher, recovering from its intraday low, which it hit in early trade, after a report from The Economic Times said that the auto major is facing up to a 15% drop in SUV production in June as some of its key parts suppliers grapple with an acute shortage of contract workers.

It was followed by ICICI Bank (1.59%), Kotak Mahindra Bank (1.16%), JSW Steel (0.80%) and Sun Pharmaceutical Industries (0.71%), which were among the other top gainers.

NIFTY Midcap 100 top gainers and losers

NSE’s NIFTY Midcap 100 gauge declined 0.81% or 484.80 points to close at 59,325.40 on June 11.

The index was dragged down by One97 Communications, the parent company of Paytm, which lost 3.82%.

The other laggards were SRF (-2.90%), Tube Investments of India (-2.65%), UPL (-2.64%) and Jubilant Foodworks (-2.36%).

On the flip side, Vodafone Idea (2.52%), MCX (1.83%), Indian Railway Catering And Tourism Corporation (1.74%), Lupin (1.19%) and 360 ONE WAM (1.05%) were among the top winners.

NIFTY Smallcap 100 top gainers and losers

The NIFTY Smallcap 100 index declined by 0.67% or 119.90 points to end at 17,702.60.

Its top losers included Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals (-4.84%), Amber Enterprises India (-4.36%), Afcons Infrastructure (-4.26%), Ola Electric Mobility (-4.12%) and Reliance Power (-3.41%).

On the contrary, Aegis Logistics (17.60%), Wockhardt (5.86%), Tata Chemicals (3.48%), Aptus Value Housing Finance India (2.67%) and City Union Bank (2.31%) were among the top gainers.
