Top gainers and losers, July 3: HCL Tech climbs 6%, Max Health, Sun Pharma up 2%, Axis Bank down 2%; check list

Top gainers and losers: The Indian benchmark indices, SENSEX and NIFTY50, closed in positive territory for the third consecutive session on Friday, July 3, amid weakness in crude oil prices and buying in IT stocks.

The SENSEX rallied as many as 0.85 points to an intraday high of 78,157.52. Meanwhile, the NIFTY50 touched the session’s peak of 24,378.15.

On July 3, the SENSEX advanced by 261.79 points, or 0.34%, to end at 77,763.91, while the NIFTY50 closed at 24,270.85, up by 95.15 points or 0.39%.

NIFTY50 top gainers and losers

Shares of HCL Technologies contributed to the NIFTY50 pack, closing 5.74% higher. It surged after the IT major announced a strategic partnership worth an estimated $1.14 billion with a Europe-headquartered Fortune Global 50 company.

Under the agreement, HCLTech will establish an AI-driven operating model to transform and manage the client's global digital workplace and enterprise network operations.

It was followed by Max Healthcare Institute (2.19%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries (1.92%), Dr. Reddy's Laboratories (1.87%), and Bajaj Finserv (1.85%), which were also among the top gainers.

On the flip side, the top losers included Axis Bank (-1.51%), State Bank of India (-1.01%), Larsen & Toubro (-0.78%), Bajaj Auto (-0.74%) and Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone (-0.73%).

NIFTY Midcap 100 top gainers and losers

The NIFTY Midcap 100 closed 0.19% or 117.60 points lower at 62,190.30 on July 3.

It was dragged down by selling in Hitachi Energy India (-8.08%), GE Vernova T&D India (-7.83%), PB Fintech (-5.71%), Bharat Heavy Electricals (-4.62%) and Multi-Commodity Exchange of India (-4.07%), which were among the top laggards.

On the contrary, Mahindra & Mahindra Financial Services (5.39%), National Aluminium Company (4.68%), Housing & Urban Development Corporation (4.05%), L&T Finance (-3.90%) and 360 ONE WAM (3.74%) were among the top winners.

NIFTY Smallcap 100 top gainers and losers

NSE’s small-cap gauge, the NIFTY Smallcap 100, ended at 19,175.10, reflecting a 7.30-point or 0.04% increase.

Its top gainers included Zensar Technologies (10.02%), Kaynes Technology India (5.30%), Piramal Pharma (4.17%), Anand Rathi Wealth (3.38%) and Nuvama Wealth Management (3.13%).

On the other hand, the top losers were Welspun Corp (-3.80%), Data Patterns (-3.49%), Brainbees Solutions (-3.22%), Reliance Power (-3.09%) and Bandhan Bank (-2.75%).
