SUMMARY
The SENSEX rose 283.29 points or 0.34% to end at 83,734.25. Meanwhile, the NIFTY50 surged 93.95 points or 0.37% to close at 25,819.35.

On Tuesday, the foreign institutional investors (FIIs) purchased shares worth ₹995.21 crore, while the domestic institutional investors (DIIs) bought equities worth ₹187.04 crore on a net basis, according to exchange data.
The SENSEX rose 283.29 points or 0.34% to end at 83,734.25. Meanwhile, the NIFTY50 surged 93.95 points or 0.37% to close at 25,819.35.
The NIFTY50 pack was led by Kwality Wall's, which closed 4.97% higher.
HDFC Life Insurance Company (3.39%), Tata Steel (2.84%), ITC (2.21%) and Bajaj Auto (1.81%) were among the other top gainers.
On the contrary, the top losers included Wipro (-1.64%), Tech Mahindra (-1.56%), Eternal (-1.56%), Infosys (-1.38%) and Adani Enterprises (-1.33%).
Shares of Eternal fell, despite expanding its strategic collaboration with OpenAI to enhance artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities across its businesses, including Zomato, Blinkit, District, and Hyperpure, along with its partner platforms and internal systems.
The collaboration, which also covers Eternal's Feeding India initiative and AI-native venture Nugget, will focus on AI deployments across Eternal's apps and underscores the growing role of AI in India's digital commerce sector.
The NSE Midcap gauge, the NIFTY Midcap 100, ended at 60,183.20, marking a 301.50 points or 0.50% jump.
It was supported mainly by Godfrey Phillips India, which closed 20% higher as cigarette companies witnessed buying interest after media reports suggested that the companies have undertaken a price hike in the range of 20%-40% to pass on the effect of additional excise duty on cigarettes and tobacco products.
It was followed by Marico (3.02%), BSE Ltd (2.98%), Bharat Dynamics (2.86%) and Cummins India (2.66%), which were the top winners.
On the flipside, Waaree Energies fell 2.92%. KPIT Technologies (-2.23%), Persistent Systems (-2.20%), Oracle Financial Services Software (-2.12%) and HDFC Asset Management Company (-1.91%) were among the other top laggards.
The NIFTY Smallcap 100 index advanced by 92.55 points or 0.54% to close at 17,239.25.
Its top gainers included Firstsource Solutions (3.73%), Hindustan Copper (3.39%), Capri Global Capital Ltd (3.15%), Kajaria Ceramics (2.88%) and Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers (2.68%).
Conversely, Brainbees Solutions (-6.26%), Affle 3i (-2.64%), Dr. Lal Path Labs (-2.29%), The Great Eastern Shipping Company (-2.16%) and IIFL Finance (-1.95%) were among its top losers.
