SENSEX, NIFTY rangebound; Patanjali Foods, Ixigo, Tech Mahindra, Sona Comstar among buzzing stocks

The Indian equity benchmarks were trading in a narrow range with a negative bias on Thursday ahead of weekly expiry of NIFTY50 futures and option contracts. Infosys, ICICI Bank, Larsen & Toubro, Reliance Industries and Tech Mahindra were among the top drags in the NIFTY50 index. The SENSEX traded in a range of 350 points and NIFTY50 index touched an intraday high of 25,238 and a low of 25,144. As of 12:00 pm, the SENSEX was down 92 points at 82,542 and NIFTY50 index declined 22 points to 25,189.

Here are buzzing stocks in trade on Thursday:

Patanjali Foods: Shares of the FMCG company were trading on a subdued note on Thursday after its board approved bonus issue of shares in ratio of 2:1.

"The Board of Directors of the Company at its meeting held on Thursday, July 17, 2025 considered and recommended for issue of bonus shares in the ratio of 2:1 i.e. 2 (Two) new fully paid-up Equity Shares of Rs. 2/- (Rupees Two Only) each for every 1 (One) existing fully paid-up Equity Share of Rs. 2/- (Rupees Two Only) to the eligible Equity Shareholders of the Company as on record date," Patanjali Foods said in an exchange filing.

Sona BLW Precision Forgings: Shares of the Gurugram-based auto parts maker rose as much as 7.38% to hit an intraday high of ₹488 on the back of heavier than usual trading volumes. Trading volume in Sona BLW shares spiked by 4 times to 1.22 crore shares as against average trading volume of 32 lakh shares.

On the BSE, 35.81 lakh shares changed hands compared with an average 1.41 lakh shares traded daily in the past two weeks.

Ixigo: Shares of travel services provider Le Travenues Technology (Ixigo) rose as much as 15.24% to hit fresh 52-week high of ₹206 on the BSE a day after it reported June quarter earnings. On the National Stock Exchange, Ixigo rose as much as 15% to hit an intraday high of ₹206.20.

Ixigo's revenue from operations rose 75% to ₹321 crore in quarter ended June 2025 from ₹184 crore in the year-ago period. Its net profit rose 28% to ₹19 crore as against ₹15 crore in the same period last year.

Tech Mahindra: Shares of Tech Mahindra slipped over 2% after the IT firm’s June quarter earnings failed to impress the investors.

The market participants were cautious after the company’s revenue in constant currency (CC) terms dipped 1.4% sequentially and 1% YoY.

Tech Mahindra’ technology, media, and entertainment vertical has dropped 3.3% due to ongoing restructuring and steep budget cuts at one of the company's semiconductor industry clients.

Kalpataru Projects: Shares of Kalpataru Projects rallied as much as 3.89% to ₹1,243.90 apiece on the NSE in the early trade on Thursday, July 17, after the company secured orders worth over ₹2,000 crore.

The company said on Thursday that it has secured new orders worth around ₹2,293 crore, along with its international subsidiaries.

These include orders in the Buildings and Factories segment in India, as well as Power Transmission and Distribution projects in overseas markets, a company statement said.

Thermax: Shares of the heavy electrical equipment maker rose over 8% to hit an intraday high of ₹3,965 on BSE on the back of heavy trading volumes.

Trading volumes in Thermax shares rose by 6.2 times to 12.53 lakh shares against an average trading volume of 2.03 lakh shares.

On the BSE, 67,000 shares changed hands as against and average of 6,089 shares traded daily in the past two weeks.
