Shares of Inox Wind Ltd dropped 5% this week to ₹187 levels.
It was an interesting week for renewable energy companies as most of them made announcements on new orders and new facilities, but the optimism didn’t reflect in their stock prices due to weak broader markets.
Shares of leading renewable energy companies posted a steep decline of up to 10% in the week ending December 20, 2024, with only some managing to post mild gains.
Here’s a look at how the share prices of major renewable energy companies performed this week on exchanges:
NTPC Green Energy announced on Thursday the commencement of supply of electricity by its subsidiary from a solar project in Gujarat.
The company said that its subsidiary NTPC Renewable Energy started commercial supply of 30 MW electricity from its 150 MW solar project in Mesanka, Gujarat.
“On the basis of certificate dated 18 December 2024 issued by Gujarat Energy Development Agency, second part capacity of 30 MW out of 150 MW Gujarat Solar PV Project, Mesanka, Gujarat of NTPC Renewable Energy (a wholly owned subsidiary of NTPC Green Energy) is declared on commercial operation w.e.f. 00:00 Hrs of 11 December 2024,” the company said in a stock exchange notification.
The company announced on Friday that it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Rajasthan government for the development of hybrid, solar and wind power projects at Jaisalmer (Ramgarh). The government of Rajasthan would facilitate the organisation/company to obtain necessary permissions/clearance etc. from concerned departments of the state.
The campaign aims to promote the company’s renewable energy initiatives. Adani Green Energy has said earlier that it aims to develop 50 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2030.
Waaree Energies is the largest manufacturer of solar PV modules in India, with the largest aggregate installed capacity of 12 GW.
Inox Wind on Wednesday said it has secured a 60 MW equipment supply order from Serentica Renewables. This order is for the supply of 3 MW class wind turbines and is to be delivered within the first half of 2025.
The Jaipur-based solar module manufacturer announced that the Madhya Pradesh government has allotted 45 acres of land to establish a solar manufacturing facility.
The proposed facility will have 3 GW solar cell manufacturing, 4 GW solar module manufacturing, and 24,000 metric tonnes (MT) aluminium frame manufacturing capacity.
IMFA will invest ₹83.26 crore in a hybrid project that combines 50 MW AC solar and 100 MW wind for a total contracted capacity of 70 MW, JSW Energy informed the stock exchanges in a filing.
