NIFTY50 above 24,000, SENSEX jumps 1% in noon session; Sun Pharma, TCS, Ola Electric among buzzing stocks

The equity benchmark indices continued to trade higher in the afternoon session on Friday, April 10, tracking their Asian peers as investors kept an eye on the Iran-US peace talks in Pakistan.

At 12:45 PM, the S&P BSE SENSEX was up 751.74 points, or 0.98%, at the 77,383.39 level, while NSE’s NIFTY50 was trading at the 24,002.05 level, rising 226.95 points, or 0.95%.

Asian Paints was the most contributing stock, rising 4.06%, followed by Eicher Motors (3.7%), Bajaj Auto (3.1%), ICICI Bank (2.74%) and Mahindra & Mahindra (2.71%).

On the flip side, Sun Pharma (-4.12%), Infosys (-3.12%), TCS (-2.98%), HCL Technologies (-2.16%) and Tech Mahindra (-2.06%) were the biggest losing stocks on the 50-share index.

Buzzing stocks on April 10: Checklist

Wipro: Shares of one of the leading IT services firms in India advanced as much as 3% to hit the high of ₹208.70 apiece on Friday. The stock is drawing buyers' attention as the company announced on Thursday that its board will consider a buyback proposal of equity shares from its investors at its upcoming board meeting scheduled for April 16, 2026.

“The board of directors of the company will be considering a proposal to buy back equity shares of the company and the matters necessary and incidental thereto, in accordance with the applicable provisions of the Companies Act, 2013, at its meeting scheduled to be held over April 15-16, 2026,” they had said in a regulatory filing.

TCS: Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) was trading over 3% lower at ₹2,504.10 on Friday. The IT bellwether on Thursday reported a 12.22% jump in its March quarter net profit to ₹13,718 crore (Q4 FY26), supported by expanded profit margins.

For fiscal year 2025-26, its profit after tax (PAT) increased 1.35% to ₹49,210 crore compared to ₹48,553 crore in FY25.

From a headcount perspective, the company added 2,356 jobs in Q4 to take the overall number of employees to 584,519 as of March 31, 2026, marking the first quarter of net addition after two consecutive quarters of decline.

Ola Electric Mobility: Shares of Ola Electric Mobility have rallied 60.5% so far since the beginning of April. The stock has been in the limelight for some time and hit the upper circuit in the last session. On Friday, Ola Electric Mobility shares surged 9% to touch an intraday high of ₹39.50 apiece.

On April 7, Ola Electric, in a regulatory filing, announced the readiness of its in-house developed lithium iron phosphate (LFP) cell, which it claimed is a key milestone in its mission to boost electric mobility and build a full-stack energy ecosystem.

The Bhavish Agarwal-led company’s registrations surged to 10,117 units in March (as per VAHAN), up from 3,973 units in February, translating to over 150% month-on-month (MoM) growth, signalling a sharp resurgence in demand momentum.

Sun Pharma: Shares of the pharma major dipped as much as 5% to touch an intraday low of ₹1,630.40 apiece on Friday after reports suggested the company is moving ahead with a binding $12 billion offer for Organon & Co.
According to a report by The Economic Times, Sun Pharma has completed over three months of detailed due diligence and is now finalising a financing package ahead of submitting a firm offer in the coming weeks. At least three global banks were reportedly mandated last week to support the bid, which could become the largest global M&A deal involving an Indian pharma company if it materialises.
Saatvik Energy: Shares of solar panel manufacturer rose 10% on Friday after the company secured an order worth ₹108.75 crore. In an exchange filing on April 9, the company stated that its material subsidiary, Saatvik Solar Industries Private Limited, bagged an order worth ₹108.75 crore from renowned independent power producers/EPC players for solar PV modules.
SpiceJet: Shares of the budget airline hit upper circuit of ₹12.27 apiece, rising 5% on Friday despite Reuters reporting that a UK court has ordered India's SpiceJet to pay about $8 million to an aircraft engine lessor over ‌unpaid rent and maintenance charges for three engines, in the latest setback for the cash-strapped airline.

According to the report, London's Commercial Court granted summary judgement on Wednesday in favour of Sunbird France 02 SAS over ⁠the unpaid rent and maintenance accruals, finding that SpiceJet had no viable defence.

Eicher Motors: The stock rallied 4% to touch an intraday high of ₹7,147.50 apiece on NSE, as the group firm, Royal Enfield, on Thursday announced its entry into the electric motorcycle segment with the launch of the Flying Flea C6 bike.

Flying Flea is the new 'city+ electric mobility' brand from Royal Enfield. The Flying Flea C6 (FF.C6) is priced at ₹2.79 lakh (ex-showroom) and ₹1.99 lakh with the Battery-as-a-Service option, Eicher Motors said.
