The equity benchmark indices continued to trade higher in the afternoon session on Friday, April 10, tracking their Asian peers as investors kept an eye on the Iran-US peace talks in Pakistan.
Asian Paints was the most contributing stock, rising 4.06%, followed by Eicher Motors (3.7%), Bajaj Auto (3.1%), ICICI Bank (2.74%) and Mahindra & Mahindra (2.71%).
On the flip side, Sun Pharma (-4.12%), Infosys (-3.12%), TCS (-2.98%), HCL Technologies (-2.16%) and Tech Mahindra (-2.06%) were the biggest losing stocks on the 50-share index.
“The board of directors of the company will be considering a proposal to buy back equity shares of the company and the matters necessary and incidental thereto, in accordance with the applicable provisions of the Companies Act, 2013, at its meeting scheduled to be held over April 15-16, 2026,” they had said in a regulatory filing.
For fiscal year 2025-26, its profit after tax (PAT) increased 1.35% to ₹49,210 crore compared to ₹48,553 crore in FY25.
From a headcount perspective, the company added 2,356 jobs in Q4 to take the overall number of employees to 584,519 as of March 31, 2026, marking the first quarter of net addition after two consecutive quarters of decline.
On April 7, Ola Electric, in a regulatory filing, announced the readiness of its in-house developed lithium iron phosphate (LFP) cell, which it claimed is a key milestone in its mission to boost electric mobility and build a full-stack energy ecosystem.
The Bhavish Agarwal-led company’s registrations surged to 10,117 units in March (as per VAHAN), up from 3,973 units in February, translating to over 150% month-on-month (MoM) growth, signalling a sharp resurgence in demand momentum.
