The equity benchmark indices were trading flat with a positive bias in the late morning deals on Wednesday, February 19.

At 12:30 PM, the S&P BSE SENSEX was trading at 76,062.70 levels, up 95.31 points, or 0.13%, while the NSE's NIFTY50 index was trading at 22,957.40, rising 12.10 points, or 0.05%.

RVNL:  Shares of Rail Vikas Nigam Limited surged nearly 13% on Wednesday, February 19, after the company bagged an order worth ₹554 crore for the Bengaluru Suburban Rail Project.

The stock rose as much as 12.88% to ₹376.3 apiece on the National Stock Exchange (NSE). At 10:50 am, it was up 10.48% to ₹368.3 per unit.

In an exchange filing, RVNL informed that it has received a letter of acceptance (LoA) from Rail Infrastructure Development Company (Karnataka) Limited (K-RIDE) for the Bengaluru Suburban Rail Project (BSRP). Read more
Aurobindo Pharma: Shares of the drug maker Aurobindo Pharma was the biggest laggard in the sector, tumbling over 4.5%. In the opening trade, the company was down almost 10%, a day after the company said that the United States Food and Drug Administration (US FDA) conducted a pre-approval inspection (PAI) at Eugia Steriles (a 100% subsidiary of Eugia Pharma Specialities Limited and a step-down subsidiary of Aurobindo Pharma), located in Andhra Pradesh, from February 10, 2025, to February 18, 2025

During the intraday trade, shares of the firm was at ₹1,131.3 apiece, falling 2.81%.

Vedanta: Shares of Vedanta advanced nearly 2% on Wednesday, February 19, as a report says the company received 83% of shareholders’ approval for its demerger on Tuesday.

During the intraday trade, the scrip was at ₹426.95 apiece on BSE, rising 2.13%.

The Anil Agarwal-led company aims to restructure itself into five separate entities—Vedanta Ltd, Vedanta Aluminium, Vedanta Oil & Gas, Vedanta Steel and Ferrous Materials and Vedanta Power. Read more
Varun Beverages: Shares of Varun Beverages rose over 1% on Wednesday after the company’s rating was upgraded. CRISIL upgraded the company’s long-term rating to CRISIL AAA/stable from 'CRISIL AA+/stable'.

During the intraday trade, shares of Varun Beverages was increased 1.58% to ₹474.85 apiece on BSE.

Tata Investment Corporation: The equity benchmark indices were trading flat on Wednesday. A few stocks, however, were trading with significant gains. One of the scrips on the gainers' list was Tata Investment Corporation (TICL).

Shares of Tata Group non-banking financial company (NBFC) rallied as much as 18.6% to ₹6,207.20 apiece on the BSE. Last seen, the stock was trading at ₹5999.95, up ₹766.40, or 14.64%.

Bharti Airtel: Shares of telecom operator continued to tumble after its block deal. A block deal involving 5.1 crore shares of Bharti Airtel, worth ₹8,475 crore took place on the exchanges on Tuesday, with promoter entity Indian Continent Investment being the likely seller. 

Bharti Airtel’s share price stood at ₹1652.20 apiece during the late morning trade, losing 0.94% on BSE.

Zomato: The food delivery app Zomato shares zoomed nearly 5% after various analysts revised their outlook for the company. During the intraday trade, shares of the company was trading 4.79% higher at ₹233.95 apiece on BSE.

Earlier analysts at Jefferies predicted that 2025 could be a breather year for Zomato, with the stock likely shifting gears into a phase of price consolidation. But other analysts revised their outlook on Tuesday.

TCS: India’ largest IT services exporter Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) tanked nearly 2% during the day’s trade after a former employee alleged that the firm misrepresented job roles to send more of its employees to the US under the L-1A visa programme.
According to a Bloomberg report, Anil Kini, who was an IT manager working in Denver for TCS said his superiors ordered him to falsify internal organizational charts — to make them appear more top-heavy with managers than they really were.

During the intraday trade, shares of the company was trading at ₹3,798 apiece on BSE, declining 1.95%.

Adani group stocks: Shares of Adani group—Adani Enterprises, Adani Ports & SEZ, and Adani Green Energy—tanked up to 4% during the day on Wednesday.

Shares of the Adani group stocks were trading lower after the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) told a federal judge in the US that its efforts to serve its complaint on Gautam Adani and Sagar Adani in the alleged bribery scheme are “ongoing”, including through a request for assistance to the Indian authorities.

The SEC submitted a status update on Tuesday to Judge Nicholas Garaufis at the United States District Court, Eastern District of New York regarding its efforts to serve its complaint on Gautam Adani and Sagar Adani.

Adani Enterprises and Adani Green Energy shares were the top losers among the Adani Group stocks. Adani Enterprises share price declined as much as 4.3%, while Adani Green Energy share price plunged 4.25%.

L&T: Shares of L&T traded 1.9% higher on the NSE at ₹3,282 apiece after company announced on aquiring 26% stake in special purpose vehicle called NPCIL.
Larsen & Toubro has acquired the balance 26% stake in L&T Special Steels and Heavy Forgings (LTSSHF) from the Nuclear Power Corporation of India (NPCIL) and also executed the Joint Venture Termination Agreement with NPCIL. Read more
