L&T buys over 2 crore units of Nxt-Infra Trust for ₹199 crore; here’s how stocks are faring

Share price: Infrastructure major Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has bought more than 2 crore units of Nxt-Infra Trust for ₹199 crore on Wednesday, August 19, through an open market transaction, according to the bulk deal data on the NSE.

Following the transaction, shares of Nxt-Infra Trust on Wednesday were trading 1.03% higher at ₹98 per unit on the National Stock Exchange (NSE).

L&T purchased 2,08,75,000 units of Mumbai-based Nxt-Infra Trust, a SEBI-registered InvIT (Infrastructure Investment Trusts).

The transaction was executed on Tuesday at an average price of ₹95.33 a unit, taking the transaction size to ₹199 crore, as per the data.

Meanwhile, A K Capital Finance sold over 2.10 crore units of Nxt-Infra Trust at the same price. This took the deal value to ₹200.67 crore.

Details of the other buyers of Nxt-Infra Trust's units could not be identified on the exchange.

Nxt-Infra Trust is sponsored by Actis Highway Infra Ltd, part of the Actis Group, a global investor focused on sustainable infrastructure. Actis was formed in 2004 following its spin-out from CDC Group plc.

Actis Group invests worldwide across energy infrastructure, long-life infrastructure, digital infrastructure, and real estate.

L&T this week had bagged an ultra-mega order in the Middle East. Worth over ₹15,000 crore, the company’s subsidiary L&T Energy Hydrocarbon Offshore (LTEH Offshore) secured an order from a Middle East client, which involves the development of multiple offshore facilities.

Share price trends

At 2:58 PM, L&T shares were trading at ₹4,040.4 apiece on the National Stock Exchange, falling 0.59%. After opening at ₹4,064 apiece, the stock had hit an intraday low of ₹4,025 per share on Wednesday.

On the contrary, shares of Nxt-Infra Trust were seen at ₹98 apiece on NSE, gaining 1.03%.

From the beginning of the year, L&T shares have declined 2%. Over a month’s time, the stock has climbed 5%, while for a six-month period it has lost 6%.

According to NSE data, as of August 19, 2026, L&T and Nxt-Infra Trust have a total market capitalisation of ₹5.55 lakh crore and ₹5,147.39 crore, respectively.
