Shares of packaged food company Milky Mist Dairy Food hit their upper circuit level on Wednesday, August 19, a day after listing on bourses.

The stock rose 10% to ₹199.65 apiece on the National Stock Exchange (NSE). The company's market capitalisation stands at ₹15,369.92 crore.

The scrip also hit the 10% upper circuit of ₹199.55 per unit on the BSE.

The dairy products manufacturer's shares had debuted at ₹165 apiece, up 17.86% from the IPO price of ₹140 per share on the NSE. Currently, the stock has scaled 42.60% from the offer price.

The ₹1,553 crore initial public offering consisted of a fresh issuance of shares valued at ₹1,428 crore and an offer-for-sale (OFS) component of ₹125 crore by promoters, Anitha S and Sathishkumar T.

The fresh issue proceeds will be utilised for expansion and modernisation of the production facility and improving its cold-chain infrastructure and debt clearance.

The funds will also be used for setting up yoghurt, whey protein concentrate and cream cheese plants and installing chocolate coolers and ice cream freezers. The money will also be utilised for general corporate purposes.

The IPO was subscribed 56.12 times, as it got bids for 4,59,04,22,836 shares as against 8,17,98,244 shares on offer, according to the NSE data.

Before the IPO, the company had mobilised ₹465.30 crore from anchor investors, including Nippon India Mutual Fund (MF), HDFC MF, ICICI Prudential MF, Zulia Investments, Public Sector Pension Investment Board-IIFL Asset Management, International Finance Corporation (IFC) and India Acorn Fund.

Founded in Tamil Nadu's Erode, Milky Mist sells value-added dairy products like cheese, paneer, curd, yoghurt, ghee, butter and ice cream, among others. It does not operate in the liquid milk segment.
