Highway Infrastructure shares jump 5% on winning ₹221 crore toll collection contract from UPEIDA

Highway Infrastructure share price: Shares of Highway Infrastructure advanced on Thursday, September 17, as the company received a letter of award (LoA) from Uttar Pradesh Expressways Industrial Development Authority (UPEIDA).

Under the contract, Highway Infrastructure will be required to collect user fees and manage the operation of toll plazas at Gorakhpur Link Highway, according to a regulatory filing dated September 16.

Additionally, the company will be required to deploy “04 number of Patrolcum- safety vehicles with required personnel manning these vehicles for Gorakhpur Link Expressway”.

The two-year contract, worth ₹220.66 crore, includes ₹105.08 crore for the first year and an escalation of of 10% per annum for the second year, the filing added.

Recent update

In a separate regulatory filing dated August 21, Highway Infrastructure informed the exchanges that it entered into a contract agreement for executing operations at the “Palayam Fee Plaza at Km 154+500 of NH-44 in Krishnagiri to Thumbipadi section from Km 94+000 to Km 180+000 on BOT basis” in Tamil Nadu.

It bagged the contract worth ₹80.17 crore from the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) for a contract period of 90 days.

Highway Infrastructure Q1 results

The firm reported an 85.38% year-on-year (YoY) decline in consolidated net profit to ₹1.06 crore in the April-June quarter of the 2026-27 financial year (Q1 FY27), compared with ₹7.25 crore in the same period last year.

Its consolidated revenue from operations, however, soared 170.91% YoY to ₹303.28 crore during the quarter under review, as against ₹111.95 crore in the first quarter of the 2025-26 fiscal year (Q1 FY26).

Highway Infrastructure stock performance

Shares of Highway Infrastructure surged as much as 4.7% to hit an intraday high of ₹45.90 per unit on the National Stock Exchange (NSE) on Thursday, September 17. However, the development was announced after the market closed on September 16.

At around 10:08 AM, the stock was trading 0.57% higher at ₹44.09 per equity share. The scrip has climbed more than 3% in the past week but declined nearly 1% over the month. On a year-to-date (YTD) basis, it has fallen 24%.

While the stock hit a 52-week high of ₹91.30 per equity share on September 18, 2025, it touched a year’s low of ₹40.10 apiece on September 15, 2026.
