Financial stocks: Most financial stocks were trading with gains in the morning trade on Monday, October 6, following the companies' September quarter (Q2 FY26) business updates that were released on Friday, post-market hours, and during the weekend.

Last seen, the NIFTY BANK index was trading 0.71% higher at 55,982.40 levels, with 11 out of 12 components trading in the green. The gainers on the index were Kotak Mahindra Bank (up 1.29%), followed by Axis Bank (up 1.26%) and AU Small Finance Bank (up over 1%). HDFC Bank was trading half a per cent higher at ₹969.75.

IDBI Bank was trading 0.73% higher at ₹93.28 on the NSE.

The NIFTY FINANCIAL SERVICES index was trading over 0.8% higher at 26,649.55 levels. The top gainers on the index were BSE (up over 3.3%), Bajaj Finance (up 3.26%), and Shriram Finance (up over 2.8%).

Out of 20 constituents, 13 were trading in positive territory.

Here are the individual companies' updates for Q2.

HDFC Bank

Private sector lender HDFC Bank on Saturday said it has registered a 9% rise in loans to ₹27.9 lakh crore in the second quarter ended September 30 (Q2 FY26).

The credit book of the country's biggest private bank was ₹25.6 lakh crore at the end of the second quarter of the last fiscal.

The bank's period-end advances under management were approximately ₹28.6 lakh crore as of September 30 this year, around 8.9% higher than ₹26.3 lakh crore as of September 30, 2024, HDFC Bank said in a regulatory filing.

The bank's deposits aggregated to approximately ₹27.1 lakh crore as of September 30, 2025, registering a growth of 15.1% over ₹23.5 lakh crore recorded in September last year, it said.

The bank's average CASA deposits were Rs 8,770 billion for the September 2025 quarter, a growth of around 8.5 per cent from Rs 8,084 billion in the September 2024 quarter, it added.

CASA stands for current account and savings account. These are low-cost deposits for banks because they usually pay little to no interest on them (especially current accounts).

Kotak Mahindra Bank

Kotak Mahindra Bank reported a credit growth of 15.8% to ₹4.62 lakh crore in the second quarter of FY26 (Q2 FY26) as against ₹3.99 lakh crore logged at the end of the second quarter of the last fiscal year.

The lender reported a 14.6% increase in total deposits to ₹5.28 lakh crore against ₹4.61 lakh crore at the end of the second quarter of the previous financial year, Kotak Mahindra Bank said in a separate regulatory filing.

Punjab & Sind Bank

State-owned Punjab & Sind Bank posted a 16.1% growth in loans to ₹1.05 lakh crore in the second quarter of FY26 (Q2 FY26).

Gross advances were ₹91,032 crore at the end of September 30, 2024, Punjab & Sind Bank said in a regulatory filing.

The Delhi-based lender reported a 9.42% increase in total deposits to ₹1.35 lakh crore against ₹1.24 lakh crore at the end of the second quarter of the previous financial year.

The bank's total business rose by 12.2% to ₹2.41 lakh crore from ₹2.15 lakh crore registered in the year-ago period.

Current Account and Savings Account (CASA) of the bank stood at 30.3% of the total deposits compared to 30.4% at the end of the second quarter of the previous fiscal.

The credit deposit ratio of the bank rose from 73.4% to 77.92% at the end of September 2025, it added.

UCO Bank

State-owned UCO Bank has reported a 16.6% growth in credit to ₹2.31 lakh crore for the second quarter of FY26.

Its total advances were ₹1.98 lakh crore at the end of September 30, 2024, UCO Bank said in a regulatory filing.

The Kolkata-based lender reported a 10.8% increase in total deposits to ₹3.06 lakh crore against ₹2.76 lakh crore seen at the end of the second quarter of the previous financial year (Q2 FY26).

The bank's total business rose by 13.2% to ₹5.37 lakh crore from ₹4.74 lakh crore in the year-ago period.

Current Account and Savings Account (CASA) of the bank stood at 38.1% of the total deposits compared to 38.24% at the end of the second quarter of the previous fiscal year.

The credit deposit ratio of the bank rose from 71.77% to 75.56% at the end of September 2025, it added.

Bajaj Finance

Shares of Bajaj Finance rallied on Monday, October 6, following the consolidated September quarter business update the company shared last week. In its filing to stock exchanges, Bajaj Finance said the customer franchise as of September 30, 2025, stood at 110.64 million as compared to 92.09 million as of September 30, 2024. In Q2 FY26, the customer franchise increased by 4.13 million.

Further, new loans booked grew by 26% to 12.17 million in Q2 FY26 as compared to 9.69 million in Q2 FY25.

The company added that the assets under management (AUM) grew by 24% to approximately ₹4,62,250 crore as of September 30, 2025, as compared to ₹3,73,924 crore as of September 30, 2024. In Q2 FY26, AUM grew by approximately ₹20,800 crore.

The deposits book stood at approximately ₹69,750 crore as of September 30, 2025, as compared to ₹66,131 crore as of September 30, 2024. This translates to a rise of 5.4% YoY.

IDBI Bank

LIC-controlled IDBI Bank on Saturday said it has posted a credit growth of 15% at ₹2.3 lakh crore in the second quarter of FY26.

Net advances were ₹2 lakh crore at the end of September 30, 2024, IDBI Bank said in a regulatory filing.

The lender reported a 9% increase in total deposits to ₹3.03 lakh crore against ₹2.77 lakh crore at the end of the second quarter of the previous financial year.

The bank's total business rose by 12% to ₹5.33 lakh crore over ₹4.78 lakh crore in the year-ago period.

Current Account and Savings Account (CASA) deposits of the bank rose by 4% to ₹1.39 lakh crore as compared to ₹1.33 lakh crore at the end of the second quarter of the previous fiscal.

YES Bank

YES Bank said its Loans & Advances grew 3.9% QoQ and 6.5% YoY to ₹2,50,468 crore. Deposits grew 7.6% QoQ and 7.1% YoY to ₹2,96,831 crore. CASA jumped 11% QoQ and 13.2% YoY to ₹1,00,263 crore.

Punjab National Bank

The state-run lender said its Global Business grew 2.5% QoQ and 10.6% YoY to ₹27,87,839 crore. Domestic business saw a growth of 2.5% QoQ and 10.5% YoY to ₹26,83,034 crore. Global deposits increased by 1.7% QoQ and 10.9% YoY to ₹16,17,041 crore.

Global Advances grew 3.6% QoQ and 10.3% YoY, while Domestic Advances increased by 3.7% QoQ and 10.7% YoY.

Bandhan Bank

Its Loans & Advances grew 7.2% YoY and 4.8% QoQ to ₹1,40,062 crore. Total deposits increased by 10.9% YoY and 2.1% QoQ to ₹1,57,975 crore. CASA deposits increased and came in at ₹44,214 crore – up 5.6% QoQ and down 6.5% YoY.
