The Indian equity benchmarks were trading on a flat note in noon deals on Thursday, April 7, ahead of weekly expiry of SENSEX futures and option contracts as gains in Mahindra & Mahindra, Kotak Mahindra Bank, NTPC, Larsen & Toubro and Tata Steel were offset by losses in Axis Bank, Hindustan Unilever, Tata Consultancy Services, Titan and Sun Pharma.

As of 1:34 pm, the SENSEX was down 7 points at 77,951 and NIFTY50 index advanced 18 points to 24,347.

Here are stocks witnessing heavier than usual trading volumes:
Craftsman Automation: Shares of the auto parts maker rose as much as 13% to hit an intraday high of ₹8,780 after its net profit in March quarter jumped 73% to ₹116 crore from ₹67 crore in the same period last year.

Its revenue from operations advanced 27% to ₹2,226 crore as against ₹1,749 crore in the year-ago period.

The stock was witnessing higher than usual trading activity as volumes jumped by 38 times to 9.94 lakh shares compared with an average volume of 26,187 shares.

Godrej Industries: Shares of the Mumbai-based company were locked in a 20% upper circuit at ₹1,227 amid spike in trading activity.

Trading volume spiked by 17 times to 24.67 lakh shares compared with an average volume of 1.45 lakh shares.

On the BSE, as many as 1.77 lakh shares changed hands compared with an average of 31,000 shares traded daily in the past two weeks.

Aptus Value Housing Finance: Shares of the non-banking finance company surged as much as 10% to ₹293.75 after its assets under management at the end of March 2026 came in at ₹`13,107 crore, up 21% annually.

Disbursements in Q4 FY26 were at ₹1,242 crore, growth of 17% Y-o-Y. FY26 disbursements were at ₹4,009 crore, registering a growth of 11% Y-o-Y.

Trading volume jumped by 14.8 times to 1.88 crore shares compared with an average volume of 12.69 lakh shares.

Aditya Birla Lifestyle: Shares of the country's leading apparel maker rose as much as 10.6% to ₹118.98 amid spike in volumes.

Trading volume on the NSE jumped by 13 times to 1.52 crore shares compared with an average volume of 11.34 lakh shares.

As many as 6.78 lakh shares changed hands on the BSE compared with an average of 36,000 shares traded daily in the past two weeks.

Piramal Finance: Shares of the NBFC fell as much as 1.6% to hit an intraday low of ₹1,936.40 amid spike in trading activity.

Volume jumped 11 times to 4.28 crore shares compared with an average volume of 39.27 lakh shares.
