The resignation follows Narasimhan’s promotion as the Executive Vice President - Marketing, Asia-Pacific Division of Colgate-Palmolive, according to a regulatory filing.
“Consequently, I shall also cease to be a Director of the Company and a Member of the Stakeholders' Relationship Committee, ESG & Corporate Social Responsibility Committee, and Risk Management Committee of the Company effective the aforesaid date,” she said in a letter to the company’s board of directors.
Furthermore, the company’s board of directors, based on the recommendation of the Nomination and Remuneration Committee, approved the appointment of Manish Anandani as the Managing Director and CEO for a period of five consecutive years, effective September 28, 2026, in succession to Prabha Narasimhan.
The appointment is subject to shareholder approval, the filing added.
Anandani previously worked at Kenvue (erstwhile Johnson & Johnson Consumer Health) as the Managing Director for India and South Asia.
Shares of Colgate Palmolive (India) fell as much as 1.6% to hit an intraday low of ₹1,880.10 apiece on the National Stock Exchange (NSE) on Friday, August 21, following the announcement.
At around 11:15 AM, the scrip was trading 1.09% lower at ₹1,889.10 per equity share. The stock has lost 5% in the past week and 10% over the month. On a year-to-date (YTD) basis, it has declined 10%.
While the shares hit a 52-week high of ₹2,504 per unit on September 4, 2025, it touched a year’s low of ₹1,782 apiece on March 30, 2026.
The company reported a 7% year-on-year (YoY) increase in its consolidated net profit to ₹343 crore for the first quarter of the financial year 2026-27 (Q1 FY27), compared with ₹321 crore in the same period last year.
Its revenue from operations grew 12% YoY to ₹1,591 crore during the quarter under review, as against ₹1,421 crore in the June quarter of the 2025-26 fiscal year (Q1 FY26)
On the operational front, Colgate’s earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation & amortisation (EBITDA) for the quarter surged 7% YoY to ₹470 crore in Q1 FY27 from ₹440 crore in the corresponding quarter for the previous fiscal year.
The EBITDA margin for the quarter contracted to 29.52% in the reporting quarter, in contrast to 30.94% YoY.
