Stock Market

After opening at the 58,222.95 level on Monday, the NIFTY Midcap 100 index touched a high of the 58,592.50 level and a low of 57,597.15 during the intraday period.

After opening lower on Monday, June 16, the broader market recovered from its day’s low and traded positively during the intraday period as the equity benchmark indices extended gains.

Last seen, the Nifty Midcap 100 was trading 0.69% higher, while the Nifty Smallcap 100 index advanced 0.49%.

Over a week, the Nifty Midcap 100 index has lost almost 2%, and the Nifty Smallcap 100 gauge has tumbled 2.3%.

Meanwhile, the equity benchmark indices NIFTY50 and SENSEX were trading 0.91% and 0.84% higher during the intraday period on Monday.

Midcap stocks

After opening at the 58,222.95 level on Monday, the NIFTY Midcap 100 index touched a high of the 58,592.50 level and a low of 57,597.15 during the intraday period.

PI Industries was the top gainer on the index, soaring 4.18%, as global brokerage firm Morgan Stanley upgraded its outlook for the company. According to a news report by CNBC-TV18, Morgan Stanley in its report has said, “PI has the highest exposure to agrochemicals in our coverage.”
Indraprastha Gas (4.16%), KPIT Technologies (3.17%), Aditya Birla Capital (3.13%), GMR Airports (2.88%) and Coforge (2.87%) were the other top contributors on the index.

Some of the IT stocks, like Persistent Systems (2.51%), Oracle Financial Services (2.44%), Mphasis (2.17%) and Tata Technologies (0.75%), were also trading higher as the sector continued to rise.

However, some midcap stocks were seen lower. Mazagon Dock (-1.89%), Bharat Dynamics (-0.95%), Page Industries (-0.92%), Bharti Hexacom (-0.84%) and IRCTC (-0.77%) were among the top losers.

Small-cap stocks

After opening at the 18,391.50 level, the NIFTY Smallcap 100 index touched a high of the 18,499.35 level and a low of the 18,085.45 level during the intraday period on Monday.

Shares of Newgen Technologies took the lead on the index, rising 6.27%, followed by Atul Limited (4.35%), Hindustan Copper (3.35%), MCX (3.24%) and Aster DM (2.69%).
Shares of KEC Limited (2.33%), Mahanagar Gas (2.18%), HBL Engineering (2.16%), Aditya Birla Real Estate (2.15%), Sonata Software (2.13%) and CESC (2.03%) also contributed to the index.

Meanwhile, Neuland Laboratories (-2.37%), Five-Star Business Finance (-2.04%), Tata Teleservices (-1.97%), HFCL (-1.73%) and Aegis Logistics (-1.68%) were the biggest laggards on the index.
