HDB Financial Services shares made a decent listing on the stock exchanges on Wednesday, July 2.

The stock debuted at a premium of 12.84% at ₹835 per share over the issue price of ₹740 apiece on the National Stock Exchange (NSE), and the BSE.

At 11:35 am, the scrip is trading 0.46% higher at ₹838.85 per unit on the NSE.

A lot, consisting of 20 shares, cost ₹14,800 (20x740). Investors who received the HDB Financial IPO allotment made ₹16,700 per lot (20x835).

The ₹12,500 crore initial public offer secured bids for 2,17,67,66,380 equity shares, compared to 13,04,42,855 shares reserved. This leads to a 16.69 times subscription.

HDB Financial issued new equity shares valued at ₹2,500 crore as well as an offer for sale of ₹10,000 crore by promoter HDFC Bank. The money generated will be used to strengthen the upper-layer non-banking financial company's Tier-I capital base.

The company, as per its RHP, also "expects to receive the benefits of the listing of the equity shares on the stock exchanges, including enhancement of our company’s brand name and creation of a public market for our equity shares in India."

The price band was ₹700-₹740 per share.

HDB Financial Services is a leading, diversified, retail-focused non-banking financial company (NBFC) with a focus on three business verticals: consumer finance, enterprise lending, and asset finance.

BNP Paribas, HSBC Securities and Capital Markets (India) Pvt Ltd, JM Financial, IIFL Capital Services, Jefferies India, BofA Securities India, Goldman Sachs (India) Securities, Morgan Stanley India Company, Motilal Oswal Investment Advisors, UBS Securities India, Nomura Financial Advisory and Securities (India) Pvt Ltd, and Nuvama Wealth Management were the IPO's book-running lead managers.
