Top gainers and losers, June 8: Wipro tumbles 8%, Jio Finserv, Eternal down 4%, Max Healthcare up 3%; check list

Top gainers and losers: The Indian benchmark indices, SENSEX and NIFTY50, closed in negative territory on Monday, June 8, as sentiments dampened amid a sell-off in Asian markets, higher oil prices and FII outflow.

On Friday, the foreign institutional investors (FIIs) sold stocks worth ₹8,776.25 crore, while the domestic institutional investors (DIIs) purchased equities worth ₹9,133.57 crore on a net basis, according to exchange data.

The SENSEX tanked as much as 1.25% to touch an intraday low of 73,318.94, while the NIFTY50 touched the session’s low of 23,070.15.

On June 8, the S&P BSE SENSEX closed 719.09 points, or 0.97% lower at 73,524.26. Meanwhile, NSE’s NIFTY50 ended at 23,123, reflecting a 243.70-point, or 1.04% decline.

NIFTY50 top gainers and losers

Wipro shares dragged the NIFTY50 index, closing 8.45% lower.

It was followed by Jio Financial Services (-3.67%), Eternal (-3.65%), Hindalco Industries (-3.62%) and Shriram Finance (-3.14%), which were also among the top losers on Monday.

On the other hand, the top gainers included Max Healthcare Institute (2.95%), Power Grid Corporation of India (1.52%), Bharti Airtel (1.22%), Bharat Electronics (1%) and Nestle India (0.99%).

Shares of BEL advanced, in an otherwise weak market, amid a news report by IRDW that the Indian Air Force (IAF) is potentially eyeing a large procurement of HAMMER (Highly Agile Modular Munition Extended Range) precision-guided air-to-ground weapons for the Rafael fleet.

In November 2025, BEL, the Navratna PSU, had signed a joint venture cooperation agreement (JVCA) with France’s Safran Electronics and Defence (SED) to produce the HAMMER precision-guided air-to-ground weapon in India.

Just nine out of 50 constituents of the NIFTY50 index advanced, while the rest declined.

NIFTY Midcap 100 top gainers and losers

NSE’s NIFTY Midcap 100 gauge slumped 1.40% or 849.25 points to end at 59,905.65 on June 8. Just 13 out of 100 of its constituents advanced during the session, while the remaining were in the red.

The index was weighed down by selling in the shares of GE Vernova T&D India (-6.34%), Hitachi Energy India (-5.87%), Kalyan Jewellers India (-5.03%), National Aluminium Company (-4.90%) and Motilal Oswal Financial Services (-4.50%), which were among the top laggards.

On the flip side, Alkem Laboratories (2.27%), Fortis Healthcare (1.74%), LG Electronics India (1.30%), Info Edge (1.02%) and Mankind Pharma (0.81%) were among the top winners.

NIFTY Smallcap 100 top gainers and losers

The NIFTY Smallcap 100 index slipped by 1.92% or 346.85 points to close at 17,763.45.

Its top losers included Netweb Technologies India (-8.34%), IFCI (-7.64%), Gujarat Mineral Development Corporation (-7.56%), Firstsource Solutions (-6.64%) and Aarti Industries (-5.99%).

On the contrary, Syngene International (2.76%), Deepak Fertilizers And Petrochemicals Corporation (1.80%), Aster DM Healthcare (1.43%), Affle 3i (1.14%) and Physicswallah (0.77%) were among the top gainers.
