Announcing the initiatives on its 9th Foundation Day, IPPB said its new Digital Mutual Fund Platform will offer customers a “simple, accessible and seamless digital investment experience.”

The bank has also launched a Digital Insurance Technology Platform, which will provide customers with a digital pathway to insurance solutions across Life, Health and General Insurance.

The move marks a shift in IPPB’s customer proposition, from primarily providing banking and payment services to also helping customers with investments, insurance and financial security.

“Our 9th Foundation Day is not only a celebration of what IPPB has achieved, but also a launchpad for what we aspire to achieve in the years ahead,” said R. Viswesvaran, MD & CEO, IPPB.

He added that the bank was expanding its technology capabilities to “make digital payments, insurance and investments simpler and more accessible to the common citizen.”

Viswesvaran highlighted IPPB’s unique advantage of combining technology with the reach of India Post. “The strength of IPPB lies in combining technology with the trust and reach of India Post, allowing us to take modern financial services to the last mile,” he said.

New savings products focused on customers

As part of its financial inclusion journey, IPPB also rolled out three new savings account variants during the last year, catering to different customer needs:

SHG Savings Account: A simple and secure banking solution designed specifically for Self Help Groups and rural micro-entrepreneurs.

Surakshit Savings Account: Provides ₹25,000 cyber-insurance protection against phishing, spoofing and SIM-jacking, along with the regular benefits of the Premium Savings Account.

Sampoorna Savings Account: Combines financial security, personal wellness and enhanced benefits, bringing together Aarogya wellness and Surakshit cyber protection with the regular benefits of the Premium Savings Account.

What this means for customers

For customers, the new platforms mean more financial services can be accessed digitally through IPPB, whether they are looking to invest through mutual funds or explore insurance options for financial protection.

The development is particularly significant for customers in rural and underserved areas. As of March 31, 2026, IPPB had 13.25 crore customers, with 77% located in rural areas and 49% being women.

With its expanding digital ecosystem and the reach of approximately 1.65 lakh post offices, IPPB aims to make investment and protection products more accessible to customers across the country.
