Dow Jones futures were trading 1.18% higher at 53,252 points ahead of the stock market open on Monday, indicating a more than 750-point higher opening when compared to the previous equity market close, according to Investing.com data.
The S&P 500 index futures were trading 0.62% higher at 7,564.75 points ahead of the Wall Street open, indicating an over 75-point higher opening on Monday’s market, as per the exchange data.
The tech-heavy Nasdaq 100 futures were trading 0.18% higher at 28,455.75 points, indicating a more than 180-point higher opening on August 3, despite sell-off pressure from the Asian markets, when compared to the previous Wall Street close levels.
The US benchmark stock market indices closed higher, with the Dow Jones and S&P 500 indices touching their new record high on Friday, July 31, 2026, as investors remained focused on Q2 earnings, chipmaking stock momentum from Asian markets, and last week’s US Fed outcome.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed 0.53% higher at 52,485.03 points after the trading session on Friday, compared to 52,208.06 points at the previous equity market close, according to MarketWatch data.
The S&P 500 index ended 0.70% higher at 7,489.72 points after Friday’s market session last week, compared to 7,437.63 points at the previous stock market close, as per the exchange data.
The Nasdaq 100 index closed 0.60% higher at 28,274.20 points after the trading session on July 31, compared to 28,106.35 points at the previous stock market close.
Crude oil prices declined more than 6% on Monday, after US President Donald Trump said on Sunday that the talks with Iran will resume from August 3 after America reportedly called off a “massive attack” on the West Asian country.
Investing.com data showed that the global benchmark, Brent crude oil prices, dropped 6.8% to its intraday low of $81.93 per barrel (bbl) on Monday’s market, compared to $87.93 per bbl at the previous commodity market close last week.
As of 7:11 pm (IST), Brent crude oil prices were trading 5.7% lower at $82.85 per barrel on Monday’s market, compared to $87.93 per barrel at the previous stock market close, as per the exchange data.
