Foreign fund inflows also added to markets' optimism, with Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs) buying equities worth ₹277.48 crore on Friday, according to exchange data.
The SENSEX surged as much as 1.02% to hit an intraday high of 78,895.10, while the NIFTY50 rallied as much as 1.60% to touch the session’s peak of 24,774.30.

The NIFTY50 pack was led by Grasim Industries, which closed 5.13% higher.
It was followed by Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) (4.57%), InterGlobe Aviation (4.43%), Infosys (4.42%) and Shriram Finance (4.16%), which were among the other top gainers.
On the contrary, just six out of the index’s 50 constituents fell. The top losers included Apollo Hospitals Enterprise (-1.53%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries (-1.36%), Maruti Suzuki (-0.59%), Oil & Natural Gas Corporation (-0.22%) and Tech Mahindra (-0.14%).
The NSE’s NIFTY Midcap 100 index ended at 63,679.30, marking a 764-point or 1.21% jump.
It was supported by gains in Jubilant Foodworks (7.24%), APL Apollo Tubes (6.71%), National Aluminium Company (5.41%), Godfrey Phillips India (5.32%) and LG Electronics India (5.27%), which were the top winners.
On the flipside, Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) (-2.38%), BSE (-1.95%), MCX (-1.86%), Exide Industries (-1.73%) and Aurobindo Pharma (-1.61%) were among the top laggards.
The NIFTY Smallcap index increased by 249.70 points or 1.29% to close at 19,589.35.
It was bolstered by Urban Company, which ended 12.72%, as market investors focused on the company’s sequential contraction of losses and ‘InstaHelp’ order book strength post the April to June quarter earnings report for the financial year 2026-27.
The company reduced its consolidated net losses by 43% on a quarter-on-quarter (QoQ) basis to a ₹92.12 crore loss in the April to June quarter of FY27, from a ₹161.16 crore loss in the fourth quarter of FY26.
The other top gainers included Pine Labs (9.99%), Aegis Logistics (8.13%), Redington (7.94%), and Firstsource Solutions (6.90%).
Shares of Redington hit a record high of ₹357.80 per unit on the National Stock Exchange (NSE) due to strong June quarter (Q1 FY27) earnings, along with robust Apple sales data.
Conversely, Narayana Hrudayalaya (-5.63%), Capri Global Capital (-2.53%), Delhivery (-2.48%), Nuvama Wealth Management (-2.16%) and CreditAccess Grameen (-2.13%) were among its top losers.
