What to expect from Alphabet earnings?

Amongst the major earnings this week, Alphabet Inc, the parent company of Google, will gather investors’ most attention. The consensus estimates of 12 analysts polled by NASDAQ suggest the company would post EPS of $2.87 per share against $2.31 per share earnings in the previous year’s same quarter. Apart from this, revenue is expected to be in the range of $116 billion to $120 billion, with an anticipated operating margin of 35.3%.

However, investors will closely monitor guidance on AI capex. As of the previous quarter, the company remains committed to spending nearly $190 billion to fund data centres and AI-related infrastructure, making it one of the key hyperscalers.

Alphabet shares were trading over 3% higher after media reports claimed that the company is working on a radical new custom server chip named ‘Frozen V2’. Early estimates suggest the chip could be 6x to 10x more efficient than existing Tensor Processing Units (TPUs).

Alphabet shares are up 14% in 2026 on a YTD basis, trading at around $357 per share. The shares made a record high of $408 per share in May 2026 and later pared the majority of the gains as investors turned cautious on the overspending by AI hyperscalers like Alphabet Inc.
