SUMMARY
Indian markets snapped the seven-day rally to trade in the red on Wednesday after selling emerged in Banking, Financial Services and IT stocks, which dragged the markets lower. The FII buying continued for the fourth consecutive session on Tuesday, keeping the overall sentiments bouyant.

NIFTY50 and SENSEX traded in the red after closing in the green for seven consecutive sessions. The NIFTY50 traded 40 points lower at 23,629, and SENSEX traded 340 points or 0.44% lower at 77,677 at noon. Meanwhile, broader indices showed resilience as they performed better than the benchmark indices. The NIFTY Midcap 100 traded in green with minor gains, and the NIFTY Small-cap 100 traded in red with 0.3% losses in the Noon.
Despite the volatility, the market breadth was in favour of declines as 1,756 stocks traded in the red and 935 in the green. Sectorally, NIFTY Auto, Metal, and Consumer Durable were the top gainers with up to 0.57% gains, and on the flip side, NIFTY Media, Healthcare and Pharma indices were the top losers.
