SUMMARY

Zensar Technologies shares advanced as much as 13% to hit an intraday high of ₹482. Trading volume on the National Stock Exchange (NSE) jumped by 52 times to 2.57 crore shares compared with an average volume of 4.99 lakh shares.

The Indian equity benchmarks held on to gains in noon deals on Thursday, July 2, led by gains in index heavyweights like Infosys, ICICI Bank, Tata Consultancy Services, HCL Technologies, Tech Mahindra and HDFC Bank. The SENSEX advanced as much as 527 points and NIFTY50 index touched an intraday high of 24,159.

As of 1:12 pm, the SENSEX was up 470 points at 77,392 and NIFTY50 index advanced 137 points to 24,142.

Here are stocks witnessing heavier than usual trading volumes:
Zensar Technologies: Shares of the country's leading IT company advanced as much as 13% to hit an intraday high of ₹482, mirroring gains in other IT shares amid spike in trading activity.

Trading volume on the National Stock Exchange (NSE) jumped by 52 times to 2.57 crore shares compared with an average volume of 4.99 lakh shares.

On the BSE, 13.93 lakh shares changed hands compared with an average of 65,000 shares traded daily in the past two weeks.

Sonata Software: Shares of the IT company rose as much as 11% to touch an intraday high of ₹294 amid spike in trading volume.

Trading volume on NSE jumped 28 times to 2.18 crore shares compared with an average trading volume of 7.68 lakh shares.

On the BSE, as many as 9.5 lakh shares changed hands compared with an average of 93,000 shares traded daily in the past two weeks.

RHI Magnesita: Shares of the country's leading refractory products maker rose as much as 14% to hit an intraday high of ₹444 amid spike in trading activity.

Trading volume on NSE jumped by 10 times to 4.14 crore shares compared with an average volume of 40 lakh shares.

On the BSE, 27 lakh shares changed hands compared with an average of 2.35 lakh shares traded daily in the past two weeks.

TBO Tek: Shares of tour and travel services provider rose as much as 3.83% to hit an intraday high of ₹1,567.55.

Trading volume jumped by 9 times to 11.46 lakh shares compared with an average of 1.31 lakh shares.

On the BSE, a total of 25,000 shares changed hands.

Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail: Shares of the country's leading retail store chain operator advanced as much as 8.75% to ₹64.

Trading volume jumped by five times to 2.6 crore shares compared with an average volume of 52 lakh shares.

On the BSE, 11 lakh shares changed hands compared with an average of 3.45 lakh shares traded daily in the past two weeks.
