Welspun Living and Texmaco Infrastructure recorded a set of block deals during the morning window on Wednesday, September 23.
Shares of Welspun Living and Texmaco Infrastructure surged up to 6% after the opening bell on Wednesday, September 23, as investors focused on the latest major buy-and-sell transaction during the morning block deal window on the National Stock Exchange.
The mega stock transaction spiked the overall trading volume of the stocks due to high investor interest, resulting in triggering the high-volume gains on Wednesday’s market.
NSE data further showed that Welspun Living shares jumped 5.1% after the opening bell on Wednesday’s market to touch an early high of ₹233 apiece, in comparison to ₹221.51 apiece at the previous equity market close.
Meanwhile, Texmaco Infrastructure shares rallied 6.2% to touch an early market high of ₹122.17 per share, in contrast to ₹115.02 apiece at the previous stock market close, as per the exchange data.
After the initial market gains, both stocks retracted from their early market high levels, trading positive during the morning market hours on September 23.
As of 9:36 am (IST), Texmaco Infrastructure share price was trading 4.7% higher at ₹120.99 apiece, while Welspun Living shares were up 3.5% at ₹229.42 apiece on Wednesday’s market.
A block deal transaction valued at ₹525.88 crore was recorded at Welspun Living during Wednesday morning block deal window, which involved a total of 2,44,71,102 equity shares exchanging hands between the undisclosed buyers and sellers.
As per the exchange data, another block deal transaction was recorded at Texmaco Infrastructure, valued at ₹147.35 crore for a total of 1,28,10,900 equity shares during the morning window.
Further details, which include the names of the buyer and seller entities along with the average trading price of the transaction, will be disclosed by the stock exchanges after the market operating hours on Wednesday, September 23.
A block deal is a stock purchase or sale transaction which holds a minimum value of ₹10 crore per trade during a single trading session on the stock exchanges.
Although retail investors are not eligible to invest via a block deal due to the sheer volume and amount of the transactions, traders continue to track these deals to spot a big movement indicating institutional buying and selling.
NSE data showed that Welspun Living shares have delivered over 45% returns to investors in the last five years, 89% gains in the last three years, and 87% returns in the past one-year period.
On a YTD basis, the stock has risen over 73% in 2026 and was up 21% in the past one-month period. The exchange data further showed that Welspun Living shares were trading nearly 13% higher in the last five sessions.
Texmaco Infrastructure’s stock performance data suggests that the shares have risen 107% in the last five years, over 68% in the last three years, and more than 27% in the past year.
So far in 2026, the company’s shares have risen 20.8% and were up 11.7% in the past month. NSE data also showed that Texmaco Infrastructure shares were up 3.8% in the last five market session basis.
