Ahead of the results annoucement, shares of the company were trading 6.44% higher at ₹2,595 apiece on the BSE in the morning trade.
Waaree Energies owns and operates manufacturing facilities with an installed capacity of 15 GW for solar PV modules globally, including 1.3 GW of Indosolar and 1.6 GW in Texas, US.
Besides results, shares of the company will be in focus today as the US has imposed anti-dumping duties on imports of solar equipment from four Southeast Asian countries.
The US on Monday imposed new duties as high as 3,521% on imports from Cambodia, Vietnam, Malaysia, and Thailand after a probe that began during former President Joe Biden's tenure. The investigation was sought by US-based solar manufacturers.
Besides this, Premier Energies shares will also be on investors' radar.
The company did not disclose the name of the company that placed the order.
The supply of modules is scheduled to commence in FY26.
About the nature of the contract, it said that it is a one-time order.
The order includes the supply of advanced 600Wp Elite BiN-08 N-Type TopCon solar modules, designed to enhance energy efficiency and sustainability, a company statement said.
The modules will be deployed for NHPC, one of India's premier hydroelectric power companies.
The supply of modules is scheduled to commence in FY 2025-26, a regulatory filing said.
Waaree Energies reported a multifold rise in consolidated net profit to ₹5,068.76 crore for the December 2024 quarter, helped by higher income.
It had posted a ₹1,408.05 crore net profit in the year-ago quarter.
The company's total income rose to ₹35,452.65 crore from ₹16,517.74 crore in the October-December period of 2023-24.
Its expenses stood at ₹28,554.53 crore against ₹15,173.08 crore a year ago.
In a media statement, the company's Whole Time Director and CEO Amit Paithankar said, "Our solar business continues to be strong, and we are rapidly advancing in the adjacencies of energy storage systems, green hydrogen, inverters, and renewable infrastructure."
The momentum in this space is stronger than ever, and the company is well-positioned to capitalise on it, the statement said.
The US contributed 15-20% of the company's revenue mix, Paithankar said.
