Waaree Energies, NTPC Green, Premier Energies and Adani Green Energy shares decline; check details

Renewable energy stocks like Waaree Energies, NTPC Green Energy, Premier Energies and Adani Green Energy were trading in the negative territory on Thursday, June 12.

Waaree Energies shares descended 0.45% to ₹2,871.1 apiece on the National Stock Exchange (NSE) at 11:10 am.

In an update related to the Letter of Award (LoA) to the company's wholly owned unit Waaree Forever Energies from Rewa Ultra Mega Solar Limited (RUMSL) to develop a 170 MW solar power plant in Madhya Pradesh, the company on Wednesday said it has signed and executed the Power Purchase Agreement with RUMSL and M.P. Power Management Company Limited (MPPMCL) for the supply of 150 MW of solar power to MPPMCL.

Premier Energies shares shed 2.69% to ₹1,029.5 per unit on the NSE. Last month, the company had incorporated Premier Energies Storage Solutions Private Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary. The unit will be involved in the manufacturing, production and processing or dealing of energy storage systems using advanced technologies and processes.

Similarly, shares of NTPC Green Energy were down 0.8% to ₹111 apiece. In an exchange filing on Wednesday, the company said that there was no deviation in the use of proceeds from the initial public offering from the objects stated in the prospectus. The issue size was ₹10,000 crore.

Adani Green Energy stock was also down 1.2% to ₹1,034.2 per share.

Meanwhile, benchmark indices NIFTY and SENSEX are down amid negative global cues.

The 30-share SENSEX slipped 217 points to 82,298, while NIFTY slid by 0.22% to 25,084.

From the NIFTY firms, Tata Motors, ITC, Tata Consumer Products, Titan, Coal India, Mahindra & Mahindra, Tata Steel, Eternal, Shriram Finance, and Hindustan Unilever were among the laggards.

Asian Paints, Wipro, ONGC, Dr Reddy's, Apollo Hospital, Sun Pharma, Bajaj Finserv and Tech Mahindra were among the biggest gainers.

In Asian markets, Shanghai's SSE Composite and South Korea's Kospi index were up, while Japan's Nikkei 225 and Hong Kong's Hang Seng were down.
