Top gainers and losers, September 17: HDFC LIC jumps 5%, TMPV rises 4%, ONGC falls 2%; check list

During the trading session, the SENSEX surged as much as 0.5% to hit an intraday high of 74,677.56, while the NIFTY50 soared as much as 0.73% to touch the session’s peak of 23,363.55. However, the indices ended flat due to weakness in banking shares.

On September 17, the SENSEX closed flat at 74,314.59, down by 21.86 points or 0.03%, while the NIFTY50 ended higher by 53 points or 0.23% at 23,270.60.

NIFTY50 top gainers and losers

The NIFTY50 index was supported by buying in the shares of HDFC Life Insurance Company (5.05%), Tata Motors PV (4.49%), SBI Life Insurance Company (4.06%), Dr. Reddy's Laboratories (3.07%), and Bharat Electronics Ltd (BEL) (2.51%), which were among the top gainers.

On the contrary, the top losers included Oil & Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) (-1.85%), Titan Company (-1.38%), HDFC Bank (-1.18%), Coal India (-1.01%) and Hindustan Unilever Ltd (HUL) (-1.01%).

NIFTY Midcap 100 top gainers and losers

The NSE Midcap gauge ended at 61,432.10, marking a 557.90-point or 0.92% jump.

It was bolstered by gains in Tata Investment Corporation (5.43%), Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL) (4.53%), Max Financial Services Ltd (4.46%), Hitachi Energy India (3.41%) and Alkem Laboratories (3.35%), which were among the top winners.

On the flip side, PB Fintech (-3.40%), Patanjali Foods (-2.89%), Federal Bank (-2.65%), Premier Energies (-2.11%) and Oil India (-2.09%) were among the top laggards.

NIFTY Smallcap 100 top gainers and losers

The NIFTY Smallcap index ended at 19,535.70, up by 147.40 points or 0.76%.

Its top gainers included HBL Engineering (7.57%), Tata Chemicals (5.86%), Kaynes Technologies (3.99%), Central Depository Services Ltd (CDSL) (3.88%) and Redington (3.44%).

Conversely, Five-Star Business Finance (-3.19%), CreditAccess Grameen (-3.07%), Meesho (-2.97%), PNB Housing Finance (-2.69%) and Zensar Technologies (-2.24%) were among its top losers.
