Top gainers and losers on September 23: Tech Mahindra, Trent, SBI Life fall over 2%; check full list

The Indian equity benchmarks fell for third straight session on Tuesday, September 23, dragged down by losses in index heavyweights like HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, Hindustan Unilever, Bharti Airtel, ITC, Ultratech Cement and Eternal. The SENSEX fell as much as 383 points and NIFTY50 index touched an intraday low of 25,085 before paring most of the losses towards end of the session. The SENSEX fell 58 points or 0.07% to close at 82,102 and NIFTY50 index declined 33 points or 0.13% to close at 25,169.

NIFTY50 gainers and losers

Tech Mahindra was top loser in the NIFTY50 index, the stock fell 2.16% to close at ₹1,473. Trent (-2.11%), SBI Life (-2.01%), Hindustan Unilever (-1.84%) and Nestle India (-1.72%) were also among the losers.

On the flipside, IndusInd Bank was top gainer in the NIFTY50 index, the stock rose 2.825 to close at ₹755. Axis Bank (2.24%), Bajaj Finance (1.93%), JSW Steel (1.87%) and Maruti Suzuki (1.69%) were also among the gainers.

NIFTY Midcap 100 gainers and losers

NIFTY Midcap 100 index fell 0.35% or 203 points to close at 58,497. As many as 64 shares in the NIFTY Midcap 100 index ended lower while 356 closed higher.

Adani Total Gas was top loser in the NIFTY Midcap 100 index, the stock fell 7.65% to close at ₹721 on account of profit booking.

Coforge (-2.81%), Mphasis (-2.79%), M&M Financial Services (-2.57%) and IREDA (-2.18%) were also among the losers.

On the other hand, Vodafone Idea (4.29%), AU Small Finance Bank (3.63%), Ashok Leyland (3.32%), Escorts Kubota (2.82%) and Hindustan Petroleum (2.73%) were gainers in the NIFTY Smallcap 100 index.
