The Indian equity benchmarks snapped their four-day winning streak on account of profit booking after indices surged to their highest level in nine months in the previous session. The SENSEX fell as much as 577 points and NIFTY50 index touched an intraday low of 25,473 dragged down by losses in HDFC Bank, Reliance Industries, ICICI Bank, Axis Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Bharti Airtel and Maruti Suzuki. The SENSEX ended 467 points lower at 83,591 and NIFTY50 index declined 121 points to close at 25,517.

NIFTY50 top gainers and losers

Tata Consumer Products was top losers in the NIFTY50 index, the stock fell 2.34% to close at ₹1,098. Kotak Mahindra Bank (-2.17%), Axis Bank (-2.13%), Hero MotoCorp (-1.96%) and Maruti Suzuki (-1.87%) were also among the losers.

On the other hand, Trent was top gainer in the NIFTY50 basket of shares, the stock rose 3.04% to close at ₹6,202. Bharat Electronics (2%), State Bank of India (1.79%), IndusInd Bank (1.78%) and Jio Financial Services (1.22%) were also among the gainers.

NIFTY Midcap 100 gainers and losers

NIFTY Midcap 100 index rose 0.6% or 356 points to close at 59,741. As many as 65 shares in the NIFTY Midcap 100 index ended higher while 35 closed lower.

Waaree Energies was top gainer in the NIFTY Midcap 100 index; the stock rose 6.87% to close at ₹3,150 after company's arm secured an order for 540 MW solar modules.

“…the Company received an order on June 27, 2025, for the supply of 540 MW solar modules from a renowned customer who is a developer and owner-operator of utility-scale solar and energy storage projects across the United States,” Waaree Energies said in a regulatory statement.

Bank of Maharashtra (5.25%), Dixon Technologies (3.57%), Aditya Birla Capital (3.07%) and Bharat Dynamics (3.01%) were also among the gainers.

On the flipside, SBI Cards was top loser in the NIFTY Midcap 100 index, the stock fell 4.39% to close at ₹948. Marico (-1.32%), PI Industries (-1.09%), M&M Financial Services (-1.03%) and Adani Total Gas (-1.02%) were also among the laggards.

NIFTY Smallcap 100 gainers and losers

NIFTY Smallcap 100 index rose 0.52% or 98 points to close at 19,075. As many as 58 shares in the NIFTY Smallcap 100 index ended higher while 42 closed lower.

Natco Pharma was top gainer in the NIFTY Smallcap 100 index, the stock rose 5.01% to close at ₹929. ITI (4.99%), Karur Vysya Bank (4.31%), Kaynes (3.96%) and Laurus Labs (3.49%) were also among the gainers.

On the contrary, Narayana Hrudayalaya (-4.25%), BLS International Services (-2.62%), Devyani International (-2.21%), Mahanagar Gas (-2.04%) and Firstsource Solutions (-1.89%) were among the losers in the NIFTY Smallcap 100 index.
