Top gainers and losers on June 2: Hero MotoCorp, HDFC Life, JSW Steel fall over 1.5%; check full list

The Indian equity benchmarks ended lower for second straight session on Monday, June 2, dragged down by losses in index heavyweights like HDFC Bank, Reliance Industries, Infosys, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Tata Motors and Tata Steel.

The Indian equity benchmarks ended lower for second straight session on Monday, June 2, dragged down by losses in index heavyweights like HDFC Bank, Reliance Industries, Infosys, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Tata Motors and Tata Steel. The SENSEX fell as much as 798 points and NIFTY50 index touched an intraday low of 24,526. The benchmarks however staged a recovery in noon deals. The SENSEX closed 77 points or 0.09% lower at 81,373.75 and NIFTY50 index declined 34 points to close at 24,716.60.

NIFTY50 top gainers and losers

Hero MotoCorp was top loser in the NIFTY50 index. The stock fell 2.05% to close at ₹4,221 after its May sales data failed to enthuse investors. HDFC Life (-1.53%), JSW Steel (-1.48%), Tech Mahindra (-1.45%) and Bajaj Auto (-1.24%) were also among the losers.

On the other hand, Adani Ports was top gainer in the NIFTY50 index. The stock rose 2.20% to close at ₹1,464 after the company's board approved raising $1 billion in outstanding senior notes in one or more tranches over the next six quarters.

Mahindra & Mahindra (1.59%), Eternal (1.10%), Power Grid (1.05%) and Tata Communications (0.91%) were also among the gainers.

NIFTY Midcap 100 gainers and losers

NIFTY Midcap 100 index rose 0.62% or 356 points to close at 57,775.55. As many as 60 shares in the NIFTY Midcap 100 index ended higher while 39 closed lower.

YES Bank was top gainer in the NIFTY Midcap 100 index, the stock rose 8.10% to close at ₹23.22 ahead of its board meeting on Tuesday.

The private lender had informed the stock exchanges that its board will meet on June 3, 2025, to consider fundraising.

Bank of Maharashtra rose 6.61% mirroring gains in other state-run lenders on expectations of interest rate cut by the Reserve Bank of India at the upcoming Monetary Policy Committee meet due later this week.

Prestige Estates (4.87%), Ola Electric (4.79%) and Indian Bank (4.43%) were also among the gainers.

On the flipside, Nykaa was top loser in the NIFTY Midcap 100 index, the stock dropped 4.56% to close at ₹194 after its March quarter earnings failed to enthuse investors.

Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders fell for second straight session after its net profit declined 51% in March quarter to ₹325 crore.

Mphasis (-2.50%), Mankind Pharma, (-2.29%) and Bharat Dynamics (-2.11%) were also among the losers.

NIFTY Smallcap 100 gainers and losers

NIFTY Smallcap 100 index advanced 1.19% or 212 points to close at 18,095.55. As many as 57 shares in the NIFTY Smallcap 100 index ended higher.

CDSL was top gainer in the NIFTY Smallcap 100 index, the stock rose 9.76% to close at ₹1,679 on the back of heavier than usual trading volumes.

Nearly 2 crore shares changed hands on the National Stock Exchange compared to an average trading volume of 50.42 lakh shares.

Karur Vysya Bank (7.56%), Brigade Enterprises (7.46%), Reliance Power (5.96%) and IDBI Bank (4.94%) were also among the gainers.

On the contrary, Inox Wind (-5.08%), ITI (-4.99%), Swan Energy (-4.46%), Go Digit (-4.13%) and Trident (-2.80%) were among losers in the NIFTY Smallcap 100 index.
